JUST TRIVIA

Enter the date Saturday 10th February into your diary for another evening of mayhem and trivia at Windellama Hall. The competition will commence at 7.30 pm and you are invited to book your place now.

Following our two successful events last year, an expanded function is planned for February, with trivia rounds, table rounds, fun and games with plenty of prizes, and of course a monster raffle again. There will be a movie to keep the children occupied if they don’t want to be part of the trivia.

Once again we would like teams to be a maximum of eight, however, if you can’t get a full team together, come along and make up the numbers on the night . We are pretty flexible and very easy going and promise you a great time.

First prize will again be $100.00 with special prizes to be won throughout the night. Although bookings are not essential it will assist in the planning, set up etc., if we know approximately how many we need to fit in the hall.

Please phone Frances Knights on 4844 5157 for bookings and enquiries.

A plate to share for supper would be appreciated.

Thank You

I wish to thank all the local knitters who have been making premi-baby clothes.

I have sent a large parcel to Sydney; then a second lot to Westmead Hospital; the last lot of garments to Goulburn Base Hospital.

Goulburn Base Hospital are pleased to accept them; so knitters could you please donate directly to Goulburn Base Hospital.

Thank you, Irene Turner.

The Hills Have Come Alive!

Rehearsals are well underway for the latest Argyle Society production of “The Sound of Music”.

This well known and much loved musical combines the lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, music by Richard Rogers and book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse.

Suggested by “The Story of the Trapp Family Singers”, “The Sound of Music” is set in 1938 Austria. A free-spirited postulant (Maria) of Nonnburg Abbey takes a position as Governess to the seven children (ranging 5 to 16 years) of the widowed Captain Georg Von Trapp. As if this wasn’t complicated enough, throw into the mix the ‘expected’ behaviour of a nun, complications of love, marriage and a Nazi invasion.

The original stage production opened at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City on 16 November 1959. The 1965 film version starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. The 2007 Argyle Society production stars Judith Kay and Andrew Wood.

“The Sound of Music” opens Friday 2 March and closes Sunday 18 March 2007 at the Kenmore Theatre, Taralga Road Goulburn. A special schools only performance has been scheduled for Friday 9 March.

For something a little different, why not try singing along with the cast as they invite you to participate in the once only audience participation performance on Saturday 10 March.

Curtain times are: Fri 2 7pm OPENS Sat 3 7pm Sun 4 2pm Fri 9 11am Schools Only Sat 10 7pm Audience Participation Sun 11 2pm Fri 16 7pm Sat 17 7pm Sun 18 2pm CLOSES

A wonderful turn out at Windellama Hall for the annual cricket match with Bungonia residents. It was a rather cool day for New Years Day with each fielding a large team in varying ages; a very vocal cheer squad; even our very own bugler. The Golden Box Trophy was successfully retained by Windellama and has been allowed to reside at Bungonia until next years match. Congrats to Man of the Match Liam Mullan from the Windellama team. Thank you to everyone for attending and making it such a fun day.
