Our WebStar of January is the fabulous Tyler Oakley. He is a 22 year-old living in San Fran-sisco who loves Doritos, Lady Gaga and boys. Varying from rapping along to Nikki Minaj, reviewing “Tyler’s Favorite Things” for the month, or one of his exciting travel vlogs, his videos span from both hilarious to inspiring. Oakley interned for The Trevor Project, an orga-nization that helps in LGBT teen suicide pre-vention and was recently the red carpet host for the ‘Trevor Live’ livestream. Watching his videos, I can’t help but feel like if I were to meet him in real life, we’d be
the best of friends. From being a “Glee” lover to fonding over pizza, this is my kind of guy. Fortunately, his hilarity does not stop at his YouTube account; he has both a tumblr and twitter where his lovable personality shines through. If you haven’t seen any of his videos, here are a few good starters.

With a witty and slightly sarcastic touch, “When Harry Met Sally” engraved itself as one of the best romantic comedies ever and a guilty pleasure for many.
Asking the question: “Can men and women ever just be friends?,” the movie explores different ideas about male-female relationships in a way that makes it instant-ly timeless and relevant for many, even twenty-two years after its release.
The movie follows the lives of Harry Burns and Sally Albright over twelve years as they figure out how friendships between men and women work, or if it can ever work at all.
Through the years Nora Ephron’s classic has shown it can still relate to relationships now and will probably stay that way for years to come.
“When Harry Met Sally” received much praise after its release including an Oscar nomination, Writers Guild of America Award, and British Academy Film Award for its screenplay, along with five Golden Globes nominations.
Through the years the praise has continued. The film is 23rd on “AFI’s 100 Years . . . 100 Laughs” list and number 60 on Bravo’s “100 Funniest Movies.” Entertainment Weekly included the movie as one of their “Top 10 Romantic Movies of all Time” and it made the 3rd spot on their “Top 25 Modern Romances” list.
Many films have tried to replicate the winning formula that is “When Harry Met Sally” which has inspired countless of films including “A Lot Like Love,” “Hum Tum,” and “Definitely Maybe.”
In 2004 the film was adapted by the Theatre Royal Haymarket starting Luke Perry and Alyson Hannigan.

2012 is upon us and if we’re going by the rules of the Mayan calendar and the world is gonna end in December, then the movie industry is going out with a bang. From trib-utes and districts to superheroes and boys struck by lightning, I’m obsessed with the upcoming movies in 2012.
When “The Hun-ger Games” trailer was released, I was sure I’d just had the best three minutes of my life. Unless you live under a rock, you must know that “The Hunger Games” is originally the first book in a series of three writ-ten by Suzanne Col-lins. Having read the entire series, I know Jennifer Lawrence, who plays the brave and bold Katniss Everdeen, has the perfect look for the butt-kicking archer. The movie comes into theaters March 23.
Apparently there are several ways to tell the tale of Snow White, and this year, Disney has nothing to do with it. Two film adapta-tions of the classic children’s story are be-ing released this year, one with a comedic twist and the other with a more dark feel to it. “Mirror, Mirror” stars Julia Robert as the evil queen, Lily Collins as Snow White and the ever handsome Armie Hammer as the
charming Prince Andrew Alcott. The direc-tor, Tarsem Singh, decided to take the more light-hearted approach and make the film more of a comedy. This movie is released on March 16.
The more dark and sinister version of the tale is called “Snow White and the Hunts-man” where Snow White, played by Kristen Stewart (a role of which is much more fitting for her than the helpless vampire-lover), is
giving up on be-ing the damsel in distress and taking matters into her own hands by becoming a warrior. Charlize Theron sends shiv-ers down my spine as she plays the evil queen in this film. This adaptation will be in theaters on June 1.
Just because Disney isn’t in on the Snow White trend this year, don’t
forget about them and their fantastical plots. Pixar is back in action with their newest film “Brave”, a story of the fiery red-headed Prin-cess Merida, a girl who’d rather be out on the battlefield to fight for her kingdom than treated like royalty. The animated film comes out on June 22.
Katniss, Snow White and Merida; The fact that many of the films this year feature head-strong, independent young women makes me beam with joy. In today’s society, the world could use some more positive role models.

Being a gleek (“Glee”-fan, if you must), has led me to two very highly anticipated movies. Darren Criss (who plays Blaine Anderson on “Glee”) stars alongside “SNL”-great Kristen Wiig in the comedic film “Imogene”. The story tells of a playwright (Wiig) who fakes her own death in order to win back her ex, but it only leads her into the custody of her ex-gambling-addict of a mother. Anything with Wiig in it is sure to leave anyone in stitches, so I’m sold.
Written by “Glee”’s Chris Colfer (who plays Kurt Hummel), comes the film “Struck By Light-ning”. The star stud-ded cast includes Colfer, Christina Hendricks, Allison Janey, Dermot Mul-roney and “Modern Family”’s Sarah Hy-land. The synopsis reads “After being struck and killed by lightning, a young man recounts the way he blackmailed his fellow classmates into con-tributing to his literary magazine.” The film seems most about being at the bottom of the social ladder in high school and trying your very best to stay afloat. The plot seems very similar to Colfer’s high school experi-ence of being bullied (minus the lightning of course). If anyone deserves to call out his former classmates, it’s Colfer.
Last but oh-so-very not least, for all my nerds out there, this summer we will be
graced by the superhero gods. What has been building up for the past four years will finally hit theaters May 4, is known as “The Avengers”. After starring in each of their own films, The Hulk, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America will team up to defeat Loki, the vil-lain from “Thor”.
If that’s not enough for my superhero-lovers, the Spiderman franchise gets a reboot with “The Amazing Spiderman” starring Andrew
Garfield and Emma Stone. “Spiderman 3” left us with a bad taste in our mouths and we’re hoping that this adaptation will wash away all those bad feelings on July 3.
And for the grand finale, capping off the beautifully made and emotionally charging trilogy, is “The Dark Knight Rises”. I flailed like a tween girl see-
ing Justin Bieber when the teaser trailer came out this past summer. Taking place eight years after “The Dark Knight”, Batman, played by Christian Bale will have to push himself beyond his limits to try to defeat terrorist leader Bane, played by Tom Hardy. The climactic ending of the serious directed my Christopher Nolan ends on July 20.
From brave females and lovable gleeks to kick-ass superheroes, 2012 may be an apocalyptic year or one of the best damn years for the cinema.

Though he’s best known for providing his vocals in the now broken-up boy band *NSync and lending his acting chops to a few television sitcoms (“My Big Fat Greek Life”, “Hannah Montana”) and movies (The Kentucky Derby), Joey Fatone is also known for a large share of charity work.
Fatone is a man who is committed to family and helping others – above all, children suf-fering from life-threatening diseases or abuse and neglect. He and his family created The Fatone Family Foundation, which is a private, nonprofit foundation that assists various chari-ties local to Orlando, Florida.
At Camp Boggy Creek, which is a chapter of Paul Newman’s Hole in The Wall Gang that serves children who are seriously ill year-round, The Fatone Family Foundation established a store where the campers can use “Boggy Bucks” to purchase souvenirs.
The Fatone Family Foundation also runs the “My Healing Harmony” program, whichsupports the power of healing through arts and music therapy for young patients within pe-diatric hospitals. Music therapy has been shown through studies to have a significant effect on cancer patients by helping to reduce nausea, decrease pain and relax the patients and their families. The Fatone Family Foundation is a large supporter of this, and through their organization they have helped to bring this relaxing therapy to light.
Many of the fundraising activities and events organized by The Fatone Family Foundation support the Children’s Miracle Network which benefits Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children & Women and Great Oaks Village, which is a home for abused and abandoned children.
After learning about the various ways that Joey Fatone and his family do their part to sup-port ill and less fortunate children through various charities locally, there was really no question for the girls at Just Media Magazine about who our first Celeb Who Gives Back should be!
To learn more about The Fatone Family Foundation, visit their website athttp://www.fatonefoundation.com where you can also make a donation on your behalf.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY
Sam will pull out the big guns when the show returns after its’ Winter hiatus by joining the McKinley High synchronized swimming team (lead by Coach Roz who will be played by NeNe Leakes of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”) in an effort to once again woo the lovely Mercedes. Will his creative way of catching her eye work for him?
While the storyline and the full cast for the second season is not being officially announce until February, Ryan Murphy has announced that “American Horror Story” will be taking on an entirely new location with new characters. While “a handful” of the first season’s cast will be returning, they will be playing completely different characters.
Fans have been given more than a little hope that the disastrous Prince Louis and Blair relationship won’t be “endgame.” In an upcoming episode, Blair and Dan share an “epic” scene in which we find out that Dan means more to Blair than some originally thought. There will also be a scene between Blair and Louis that will throw up the signal that Chuck means more to Blair that anyone.
Klaus and Elijah’s sister Rebekah will be returning to the series, but don’t expect a bunch of hugs and kisses when she makes her appearance. She’s still super angry with Elena for pulling “the ultimate mean girl back stab,” which will be a big problem for Klaus, who wants Elena to stay safe. Rebekah’s not too happy with Klaus either, so here’s hoping that him trying to prevent anything bad from hap-pening even works.

Cigarette smoke, uncomfortable combat boots, over-sized scarves and jackets with coffee stains. YES! I’m in New York City, to be more specific, the lower east side of Manhattan walking down Stanton Avenue, which is now a village filled with boutiques, over-priced shoe stores, and high-end vegan restau-rants. Being around such a fusion of culturally diverse people, food, music and the artistic flow that the Big Apple seems to have, I was automatically infused with an urban and unique way of looking at things. The beauty is that New York brings “the hipster” out in everyone, and the abil-ity to express yourself is unlimited. I’ve always thought that the vulnerability the city has its the very reason why people crowded the streets of New York. As I was walking down Rivington, Elizabeth, and Essex Street, I began to understand why New York is the mecca of authenticity. It’s what makes it okay to wear those highlighted green shoes with cargo pants and a red cropped tee. Having that fashion freedom is what makes NYC authentic. The next time you find yourself sec-ond guessing whether you should wear those highwaters, just think with that New York perspective and make it work.

We got the chance to sit down with Laura Diaz, the talented new co-host of XL106.7’s Orlando morning radio show, “Johnny’s House,” and discuss her big
move from Local TV News Anchor to Radio Host. Coming in as a replacement for Jayde, many wondered whether the picture-perfect
anchor from Local 6 News could keep up with our beloved boys from the XL morning show, Johnny Magic and Brian Grimes.
Now, a few months into her new gig, she has shown Orlando a new side of herself and won the love and respect of everyone as she has made her own mark on
the people of Orlando’s morning routines as Lady Laura Diaz.

Just Media Mag: You had a very successful run as a newscaster, what made you switch over?
Laura Diaz: I had always wanted to be a newscaster from the time I was 7. I guess it just ended up being one of those things where what you think something is and what it actually is are two different things. So I pursued my dream 100 percent, I did the newscaster thing in middle school, high school, college, and just pursued it until I got my first job right after college. Usually you have to start really small, so I started in a town called Monroe, Louisiana. I did that for two years, paid my dues, and made like nothing. So I basically lived in poverty while I paid my dues, then I made my tape resume and got an internship in Orlando, where I was born and raised. After close to 7 years in the business I realized that it was all just too negative, and I would go home and be depressed because all you do is talk about murders, rapes, incarcerations, abuse and all kinds of awful things. That’s cool for the first couple of years because you feel like you are solving crimes, but after a few years you realize you are not doing that, you are just being kind of sensational, and taking something that is really sad like a murder and try to get details out of the story that are unnecessary just because that is the juicy part of the story instead of the important part, like who did it.
JMM: How does it feel to be in a more relaxed environment?
LD: It’s awesome. When I was a news an-chor I felt depressed. You are talking about such awful things everyday, but everything is very confined and scripted. Not only are you reading a script from the TelePrompTer, but
everything else is also scripted in the sense that they pick your clothing, your makeup; everything was pre-planned; nothing is personal. Everything has to be under a guideline. With your hair, they tell you how you can wear it, what you can wear and what you are allowed to do in your free time. And it has to be that way, you can’t have your news anchors partying all night. I understand, but it’s just not for me.
JMM: Had you ever thought about working in radio?
LD: No.
JMM: After you came to the show as a guest, when did you realized that it was something you wanted to follow as a career?
LD: What happened was, I was really starting to get over the news business. For, I would say a solid year, I was thinking about what else I could do and I couldn’t come up with anything. I was looking at nonprofit organizations, maybe to help people. I do a lot of volunteer work in my personal time anyways, so I was like, ‘maybe there is a place where I can work in nonprofit. Just take a huge pay cut and be happy.’ I thought that’s what would happen, but there was nothing that was calling me so I just stayed in the news business for that last year. Then when I heard Jayde left, I actually e-mailed Johnny first. I was completely out of the loop until the day she actually left and said her good byes on air because I was on air at the same time they were on air. So I just e-mailed Johnny asking if the position was filled or if they were still looking, not thinking anything of it. I figured they already had someone, since she had told them she

was leaving for how many months and I caught on at the last minute. He e-mailed me back saying that they hadn’t filled the position and why don’t I come in and be a guest. So I would say the first day I went in to be a guest, actually no, I would say the first time I met Johnny. Because after I e-mailed him we met just to see if we could sit down and have a conversation, since that is a lot of what radio is. I met him downtown at the cigar bar, and we were just chatting and getting to know each other, and it was as if we had known each other our whole lives. After that I came in to audition, but it really wasn’t an audition.
JMM: How about your husband? What happened when you told him that you wanted to quit your job?
LD: He was scared shitless. He has a job so we wouldn’t have been destitute, but would have been broke. I made really good money at Local 6, and I appreciate everything it did for me. It just wasn’t fulfilling my soul, so when I told my husband I was going to quit, he looked at me with this blank face and just went “okay.” Because he knows that when I get my mind into something, there is no stopping me and he knew how unhappy I was. He was just scared shitless, and I was totally fine and I knew that I was going to get this job. I had to quit channel 6 before I could even audition, so there was a major possibility that I could have quit and not gotten the job. Johnny told me up front just because you audition, it doesn’t mean that you get the job. He told me, I would say about 5 times before I quit. And he told me, “you know, you could be left with nothing.” He wanted me to know that this was not a 100 percent sure. He said I was the front-run-
ner and that he loved me but he said the final test was the audition on air. If you don’t have chemistry on air, than the whole thing is done.JMM: I got to meet everyone from the morn-ing show a few years back, right around the time Jayde was starting, and what really struck me was that they really are like a big family. How did you feel at the beginning, did you ever feel like you had to catch up because you were the new person?
LD: The thing is Clare was new, so it was just Johnny and Brian. Whitney was sort of on her way out, and it felt like I had known them for years. Other than me just getting used to the format of radio because there was an adjustment period there, there was never an adjustment period in chemistry.
JMM: How did it feel going from such a reserved job, to a job that requires you to be open about everything, even your personal life?
LD: I’m me when I’m on the radio, that is how I am 100 percent. With the news, it was the opposite. The person I was on air was the opposite of who I was in real life, so just being myself was the easiest part.
JMM: How does your husband react to the things you say on air? Are there time when he just says, “I can’t believe you just said that on air”?
LD: I’m lucky because Mike works in advertising, so he understands how it works. So if I say something on air, there might be other people who think that, but even if it hasn’t been discussed, I know it won’t bother him. Mike understands that when I’m on air from 6:00 to 10:00, anything I say is off limits for him to get mad at because its my job.

After purchasing an old Conn electric organ in 2008, Michael Fitzpatrick was inspired to write the song “Breakin’ the Chains of Love” after which he contacted saxophonist James King and ‘Fitz and The Tantrums’ came together. The band clicked from the beginning, booking their first show at Hollywood’s Hotel Café only a week after their first rehearsal. Their big break came after they were invit-
ed to join the Maroon 5 “Back to School” tour to replace ‘K’naan,’ who cancelled due to fatigue.
“Adam Levine from Maroon 5 was in New York to get a tattoo, and his favorite tattoo artist had downloaded the record after hear-ing us on KCRW,’ said Fitzpatrick. “He told Adam, ‘you gotta hear this band.’ A week and a half later we’re opening for Maroon 5 on their college tour.”

PJs, Coffee and Books, Oh My!“Death Comes to Pemberley”By Neda Hamdan@n3datron
Are you a Jane Austen fan? Is Pride and Prejudice one of your favorite books? Then Death to Pemberley is a dream come true. Written by P.D. James, “Death Comes to Pem-berley” is a novel that takes place six years after “Pride and Prejudice.” James satisfies “Pride and Prejudice” fans with his ‘what if’ aftermath to the original book, and adds a little murder-ous twist. Mr. and Mrs. Darcy are happily married with two children, Fitzwil-liam and Charles. The blissfulness of their marriage is interrupted when Mr. Wickham disappears, causing Lydia to become distressed. Mr. Darcy and others go looking for him only to find Wickham kneeling over his friend’s dead body. The suspense is kept interest-ing throughout the book, consistently keep-ing you intrigued without becoming dull. While there have been many “Pride and Prejudice” sequels written, most have lacked the charm and consistency of the original book, as well as the lovable qualities of the
characters. James, not only sticks to the original, but makes certain characters grow up in a way that seems realistic. James also introduces new characters that fit right into the world that Jane Austen created. James successfully made an example of how Jane Austen would go about writing a mystery novel. Not only had she brought characters from “Pride and Prejudice,” like Mr. Bennet, but she also included charac-
ters from Austen’s other books such as “Persua-sion”, and “Emma”. This book does what “Pride and Prejudice” did not: it gave an inside look at characters that were only slightly mentioned in “Pride and Prejudice.” Such as Georgiana, who has grown into a woman
who must decide between what her brother wants and what her heart desires. James blended old characters with new ones, and brought tragedy to Pem-berley, which was originally regarded as light and wonderful. She found a way to write about a murder, in Austen’s world. Being in her 90s, James has not lost her touch to intrigue and entertain through her books, and is now using Mr. and Mrs. Darcy to do it.
