From Fabric A, cut:two 4-1/2” x WOF strips. Subcut: fifteen4-1/2”squaresnine 3” x WOF strips. Subcut: one hundred twenty-six 3” squares for the HSTseight 2-1/2” x WOF strips. Subcut: eighty-six 2-1/2” squares twelve 2-1/2” x 4-1/2” rectangles

From Fabric B, cut:two 3” x WOF strips. Subcut: fifteen3”squaresfortheHSTs Trim the remainder of the second strip to 2-1/2” wide, then subcut: six 2-1/2” squares
From Fabric C, cut:one 3” x WOF strip. Subcut: thirteen 3” squares for the HSTsone 2-1/2” x WOF strip. Subcut: two 2-1/2” squares
From each of Fabrics D and E, cut:one 3” x WOF strips. Subcut: seven 3” squares for the HSTs Trim the remainder of the strip to 2-1/2” wide, then subcut: two 2-1/2” squares
From each of Fabrics F-P and R-U and W, cut:one 3” x WOF strip. Subcut: fourteen 3” squares for the HSTsone 2-1/2” x WOF strip. Subcut: four 2-1/2” squares
From Fabric Q, cut:six 4” x WOF strips. Sew together, end-to-end, the trim: two 4” x 57-1/2” top/bottom outer borders two 4” x 58-1/2” side outer bordersone 3” x WOF strip. Subcut: fourteen 3” squares for the HSTsone 2-1/2” x WOF strip. Subcut: four 2-1/2” squares
From Fabric V, cut:six 1-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew together, end-to-end, the trim: two 1-1/2” x 50-1/2” top/bottom inner borders two 1-1/2” x 56-1/2” side inner bordersone 3” x WOF strip. Subcut: fourteen 3” squares for the HSTsone 2-1/2” x WOF strip. Subcut: four 2-1/2” squares From the Binding Fabric, cut:seven 2-1/2” x WOF strips

Step 1: Pair a 3” Fabric A square with a 3” Fabric B square, RST. Mark a diagonal line on the wrong side of one square. Sew 1/4” away from both sides of the marked line. Cut on the marked line, creating two half-square triangles (HSTs). Press toward the darker fabric. Trim to 2-1/2” square. Repeat to make fourteen A/B HSTs.

Note: This quilt will be assembled block by block. In order to streamline the assembly, it is best to label each HST and solid square by fabric letter before sewing any pieces together.
Assemble the Units
Step 3: Gather the units needed for Block 1. Sew together, pressing the seams in opposite directionseveryotherrow.Sewtherowstogether,pressingthefinalseamstotheleft.
Step 4: GathertheunitsneededforBlock2,andassembleasinStep3.Pressthefinalseamsto the right.
Continue,assemblingBlocks3-56.Pressthefinalseamsinoddnumberedblockstotheleftand even numbered blocks to the right.
Assemble the Quilt
Step 5: Arrange the blocks into seven columns of eight block units. Note the fabric placement and block orientation in the Quilt Assembly Diagram.
Step 6: Sew the blocks together to form columns. Press the column seams up in the odd numbered rows and down in the even numbered rows.
Step 7: Sew the columns together to form the quilt center. Press the seams ope or to one side.

Step 8: Sew the side inner borders to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the top and bottom inner borders to the quilt center. Press toward the borders.
Step 9: Sew the side outer borders to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the top and bottom outer borders to the quilt center. Press toward the borders.
Your quilt top is complete! Baste, quilt, bind and enjoy!
