Just enjoying this crazy thing called life!
I grew up in Franklin, Indiana with my mom, dad, and brother named Daniel. I’m four years older than my “little” brother. He definitely got the height in the family! My parents still live in the same house in which I grew up. The house is next to my grandparents and aunt.
These are my parents and brother at my wedding four years ago. My dad and brother are engineers. My mom is a secretary at a school.
This is Jack. I
babysat him
beginning
when he was
three years
old. He is now
a senior in
high school!
We are still
very close and
refer to each
other as
siblings. He’s
an amazing
diver.
I graduated high school in 2002, and began college in the fall. I graduated from the
University of Indianapolis. It was a
great experience, and I had amazing
professors. Since it is a Division II school, I had
the opportunity to meet many people, but it still seemed to have
the feel of a small college.
My major was Elementary Education.
Although my college didn’t
have endorsements
, I did get a computer
certificate due to the number
of hours of computer classes.
I started grad school in the fall of 2012 and I’ve finished 18 credit hours. I love the flexibility of taking classes online.
This is Esch Hall. I spent many hours here each day during undergrad.
I’ve been blessed with awesome friends! I have some friends from my years in Franklin, but I’m closest to my college friends. We live all over the country and try to see each other as often as possible!
In this picture we are celebrating at a wedding.
Yes, there is a doll in the picture. It’s a long story.
After obtaining my degree, I worked in Avon, Indiana as a fifth grade teacher. I taught all of the subjects, and loved it.
Then, we moved to Texas for my husband’s job. I worked at New Technology High School as a PBL math consultant. I learned so much while there and really began to appreciate a new style of learning. I left New Technology High School because I decided that I missed having a class of my own.
I now work at McCulloch Intermediate School in Highland Park. I work on a great team of four teachers. I teach math to four classes. I’m a huge fan of teaching one subject now!
We take a camping trip in the fall with our students. These are some fellow teachers. The beard/hat
was a fun idea at the time, but made for dorky pictures later.
We play in a kickball tournament at the end of each school year.
This is my lovely team while on a trip to Washington D.C. with the students in June 2013.
These are the other fifth grade
math teachers! They are a fun
bunch!
I’ve been married to my husband for four years. He is from Evansville, Indiana. He did his undergrad and master’s at Purdue University. He loves his Boilermakers! He’s an engineer for Southwest Airlines.
This is our niece, Kate, and
our nephew named Ryan.
They live in Alabama.
My husband enjoys doing Tough Mudder races. I think they are dangerous and slightly crazy, but he loves them.
Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana
A few of Tony’s friends flew to visit
for his 30th birthday last year.
Since it was Halloween weekend,
we dressed up as him.
We are obsessed with our Goldendoodle named Milo. He’s seven months old and is usually very sweet and calm.
We will have a new addition to our family in March, and we are very excited!
Milo graduated from Puppy School last weekend.
I enjoy the company of friends and family while working out,
running races, attending athletic events, traveling, and trying new
things.
I’ve ran three races so far.
We attempted to teach ourselves to knit one night, and it didn’t really turn out as planned.
We went to Italy last March.
I enjoy going to City Surf to workout.
Although I haven’t had a
position in which I
supervised and led other employees, I have had a
few opportunities to be a leader among other teachers.
While at New
Technology High
School, I worked
with other teachers.
While working
collaboratively, I
advised and
assisted them with
their planning and
implementation of
the projects.
I currently work in Highland Park. I am on many committees including the Technology Focus
Team and Campus Leadership Council. I represent other teachers and report back to
them regarding what was discussed and decided. I enjoy being a voice for other teachers. I am respectful of
opinions and needs while I am in these committees. I am also respectful and listen. I am also a leader for the Student Council group at my
school. I organize events and communicate to the students regarding what makes a good role model and leader in the classroom (and outside the classroom).
Although I love teaching now, I aspire
to work at the collegiate level. I’d love to return to the
University of Indianapolis and work
in the School of Education. I am
considering getting my doctorate.
Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt and dance like no one is watching.

We loved our Texas
adventures!
