Junior Achievement (JA) programs help prepare young people for the real world by
showing them how to:
• Generate and effectively manage wealth

• Apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace
• Recognize the economic relevance of excelling in school
JA was founded nationally in 1919 and locally in 1954. JA of Orange County is a satellite of JASoCal, the Southern California arm of Junior Achievement USA. Today, JA reaches more than 4.6 million K-12th grade students per year with 25 experiential programs in 201,444 classrooms and after-school locations.
Funding
JA of Orange County operates on a $594,000 budget and receives no direct funding from United Way or any government agency. Programs are delivered at no cost to the schools or its students.

Proven Success
JA is one of the few non-profits to use independent, third-party evaluators to
gauge the impact of our programs.
Evidence demonstrates that even a single exposure to a JA program makes
a difference.
