JUDGE OF AWARDS Brienne Brown Brienne Brown is a signature member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, the Utah Watercol- or Society and the National Watercolor Society. Her paintings are frequent award winners at plein air events and major national exhibitions. She is a nationally recognized workshop instructor. ELIGIBILITY The exhibition is open to all artists working in watercolor on paper, synthetic paper or watercolor board with transparent and opaque watercolors, gouache or water soluble inks

…no acrylic, casein, egg tempera, permanent inks, pastels, colored pencil, collage or any form of pre-print or reproductions …must be artist’s original work from sources attributed to the artist and executed solely by the artist …paintings of nudes are acceptable with Valley Arts reserving the right to refuse entries depicting undue violence or obscenity

ACCEPTED ART WORK Notice of acceptance will be via return mail (SASE with entry) and posted on the Valley Arts website www.valleyartsvt.com

AWARDS Selections for the exhibition will be made from JPEG images by a panel of jurors holding signature member-ship in watercolor societies. Awards will be made by the judge of awards from delivered work once the ex-hibition is hung. Value of monetary and merchandise awards to be determined ($6000+ and merchandise awards)

PRESENTATION All submitted work must meet the following requirements: …maximum frame size is 45 inches in any direction …work must be matted in white or neutral color mat, colored liners permitted …work must be protected by glass (hand delivered) or plexiglass (shipped work)

…varnished work must be placed under glass or plexiglass …work must be framed with appropriate wire for hanging – no sawtooth or loop hangers …work misrepresented by the submitted images may be rejected

Entry grants Valley Arts permission to reproduce work for records and promotional purposes. Although the utmost care will be taken in handling artwork, neither Valley Arts, its representatives or individuals working with Valley Arts will be responsible for damage or loss whatever the cause. Artists are responsible for provid-ing their own insurance for accepted work.

DELIVERY Instructions for hand delivery or shipping of work will be provided upon acceptance into the exhibition. Withdrawing work, once accepted, will result in refusal for entry for the consecutive two years.

SALES All work must be for sale. Changes in image or price are not permitted following acceptance. Work not sold must remain hanging for the duration of the exhibition.

Due to the nature of the exhibit location and the large tourist clientele, sold work may be removed from the exhibition space. A high quality print will be placed in the location of the original. A commission of 35% will be retained by Valley Arts on all sold work. Payment to artists will be made within 30 days of the close of the exhibition.
