the year for the 2018 Leadership Hudson Students is coming to a close. Students gathered for a final day of reflection at YMCA camp St. croix as they discussed this past year’s growth and their future plans for continued Leadership development. As LH students revisited their strengths, they were provided the opportunity to use them while solving the St. croix challenge, designed to test their leadership and teambuilding skills!

Leaders come with a variety of styles and skill sets, however they all need confidence and strength to step out of their comfort zones. From working together to climb the giant Jacob’s ladder to collecting the courage to jump with a zip line, the Leadership Hudson class of 2018 is ready to launch!

Leadership Hudson challenges emerging leaders to further their leadership skills by putting them into action. During the Leadership Hudson Program, students had the opportunity to learn about many admirable organizations that help make the community of Hudson a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. it was out of this new awareness that students formed Valley Voices, an initiative to raise awareness and funds by hosting an event for a deserving organization, giving them a platform to share their message. Leadership Hudson students kicked off their project with a luncheon and presentation featuring the Hudson Area Backpack Program, an organization that feeds hungry children in our elementary and middle schools. in 2017 the Hudson Area Backpack Program served 165 families in the Hudson area.

Leadership Hudson Valley Voices will be collecting donations for the Hudson Area Backpack Program up until their class graduation on June 19th. to date they have raised $1,275. Leadership Hudson would like to thank the following companies for their donations to the event luncheon so all funds from tickets sold could be directed to the Hudson Area Backpack Program: costco Wholesale, county market, Family Fresh market, Hudson Flower Shop, Keys café and Bakery, La Fete, old Southern BBQ Smokehouse, Peopleready, and rJ’s meats & Groceries. to learn more about the Hudson Backpack Program go to www.hudsonbackpack.com. if you would like to make a donation please contact the Hudson chamber of commerce & tourism Bureau at (715) 386-8411.
