GovernOrr’s Gazette

Hi Indiana Circle K’ers!

I hope you’re having a fantastic summer and soaking up the sun! Even though it’s summer, try to find ways to perform service in your hometowns and team up with the Kiwanians. You can also prepare for the school year by working with your club officers to come up with new ideas and jumpstart your semester.

Summer is a great time to relax, but it’s also a great time for progress. Keep your eyes open for useful club resources, District updates, and International Updates in the upcoming months. Also, enjoy your break this summer since only President’s are required to submit MRF’s each month until September 5th!

We were each put on different LSSP teams to perform service projects. We worked at the March of Dimes office, built a picnic table, gardened, sorted food, cleaned up a river, helped at a local school, and so much more!

Service Opportunity Available!( as if there is never not service to be done )

There is a summer service opportunity in the Northern part of the state. The Nappanee noon Kiwanis is looking for some volunteers to help work their

ribeye steak sandwich booth at the Elkhart county 4H fair. If someone volunteers they get a free meal and they also get a free pass into the fair.

If anyone wants to get involved I would need to know by July 8th. My phone is 574-354-2191 and my email is [email protected]. You can email me to

find out what spots are still available. Don't forget that if two or more individuals come from the same club it can be considered an interclub!

EliMiNaTe Fundraiser

As you may have read Governor Orr's Project for this year is to raise $5,000 for Eliminate. I will be assisting Kathryn in raising money for Eliminate. The most recent way I am trying to raise money is by making key chains to sell. The proceeds will go to Eliminate. The front of the key chains have a picture of INCKI while the back has the Eliminate logo. We are selling them for $4. That mean $1.80 from each key chain will go to Eliminate which is the exact amount that will save one life. If your club is interested in buying some to sell at your university during the school year or to sell to your club members please let me know so we can make arrangements to give them to you. We will also have them available at district events. This is the first district fundraiser. Please look in upcoming newsletters to find out ways to raise money in your home club. I am so excited to see how much we raise for Eliminate.

Hi, I am Lauren Shafer the Preferred Charities Chair. As this chair my job is to work with our

preferred charities and service partners. In the previous newsletter there was a description of each of these. My main goal is to educate the

district on all of these. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at

[email protected].
