    multiple one-day trip destina-

    lodging costs.

    websites that my Family and

I use when planning our va-cations. If youre planning a

    trip to Chattanooga, Louis-

    ville, or even Disneyworld,

As our FSC Soldiers head out

    on Rest and Recuperation

(R&R) Leave, I like to ask

    what are their plans. Some

    Soldiers have elaborate, once

    -in-a-lifetime vacations

    booked to exotic foreign

    lands. Other Soldiers plan to

use their leave exactly forwhat it was intended for, rest

    and recuperation.

    Regardless if theyre going to

    Australia or Clarksville, as

    the time approaches, every

    Soldier has an unmistakable

grin on their face. It is easy

    to spot a Joe counting

    down the days before they

jump on a plane and travel

    back to the United States.

For Soldiers new to the Army

    or Fort Campbell, R&R leave

can be a hectic time, and oc-

    casionally, even a disappoint-

ment. I have found that it is

helpful to have a basic plan; a

very flexible list of what you

    would like to accomplish

    during those short, but pre-

    cious 15 days.

There are a lot of activities to

do in the Clarksville and thesurrounding areas. If youre

    01 JUNE 2011

    FSC, 326th Engineer Battalion

    Ghost Riders

It's the time of the year when

    summer is headed our way

    and the weather is warming

    up. With the season change,

    it's not uncommon to start

    spending more time enjoying

    the outdoors, whether it's

spending time on the water or

    just in your own backyard

    throwing a ball around.

    As you are enjoying the

    weather outside, remember to

    protect yourself by doing the

    little things like using sun-

    screen and wearing a life-

jacket when riding in a boat.Summertime can certainly be

fun, but if you don't heed to

    some of the safety precau-

tions, you might pay for it one

    way or another. Remember,

when you are having a cook-

out on a hot day near the pool,

take a few moments and take

    some simple steps to protect

    yourself, your friends, and

    Family.

    Your deployed Soldiers may

not get out on the water, but

we are certainly in the sun

and heat quite a bit. Tem-

    peratures this week have been

right around 100 degrees, andthat's about as cool as it's

going to get in the afternoons

here. We make sure to have

    plenty of water, shade, and

    the always welcome air con-

    ditioning available.
