    Grace Point Community Church, Living

    Faith Baptist Fellowship, and

FBC Shepherdsville joined for a May

    mission event

Twenty-nine people from three cluster churches

gathered in Shepherdsville, Kentucky on Saturday, May

    22nd

for a joint mission event. GracePointe Community

Church in Mt. Washington, Living Faith Baptist Fellowship in Elizabethtown, and First Baptist Church, Shepherdsville partnered to do three one-day

mission projects. Landscaping was done at the apartment building owned

by Shepherds Shelter. Minor repairs were also done on a mobile home

owned by Shepherds Shelter. The third project was dating, sorting, and

shelving over 1500 pounds of food donated by the Bullitt County Post

A team works on landscaping at

    an apartment complex used for

    transitional housing owned by

    Shepherd's Shelter.

Offices to the food pantry operated by First Baptist, Shepherdsville.

    Shepherds Shelter, a faith-based non-profit organization, provides

emergency shelter, transitional housing and permanent supportive

housing. This organization began in 2001 as an attempt to address the

increasing numbers of families in Bullitt County who experience a housing

    crisis.

The food pantry at First Baptist Church provides emergency food for over

100 families a month in Bullitt County.

This was the second such mission event supported by this KBF

Cluster. During the fall of 2009, these three congregations gathered in

Elizabethtown to spend a Saturday serving in the community. These three

churches plan to "cluster" again next spring and do a mission project in the

Mt. Washington area. Special thanks to David Wells (FBC Shepherdsville),

Alice Mull (Living Faith), and Tim Doremus (GracePointe) for helping to

    plan this event.

    Steve Murphy (GracePointe)

    mobile home owned by

    Shepherd's Shelter. Minor

    repairs were also completed

    inside.

The 2010 KBF Youth Choir rehearsing before worship Saturday

morning at Stanford Baptist Church. The 38 member choir was

composed of youth from Buechel Park Baptist (Louisville),

Calvary Baptist (Lexington), Faith Baptist (Georgetown), FBC

    Middlesboro, Georgetown Baptist, Highland Baptist

(Louisville), Stanford Baptist, and Trinity Baptist (Lexington).

The choir was directed by Dr. John Campbell, Director of Choral

    Activities at Georgetown College.

During the 2010 KBF Spring Gathering in Stanford, 38 youth from eight churches

came together to lend their voices and form the first KBF Youth Choir. Those who

participated in worship on Saturday morning were treated to four beautiful

selections sung by the choir, each piece worked on only the prior evening and

morning. Under the direction of Dr. John Campbell, Director of Choral Activities at

Georgetown College, youth from Buechel Park Baptist (Louisville), Calvary Baptist

(Lexington), Faith Baptist (Georgetown), FBC Middlesboro, Georgetown Baptist,

Highland Baptist (Louisville), Stanford Baptist, and Trinity Baptist

(Lexington) arrived on Friday evening ready to rehearse at nearby Lexington

Avenue Baptist Church. Their evening ended with pizza, fun, and games. They

showed up bright and early the next morning at Stanford Baptist ready to rehearse, each wearing their bright yellow KBF Youth Choir Festival T-shirts. The music was

wonderful and a welcome addition to worship both visually and audibly. KBF looks

forward to 2011 when the Youth Choir Festival will return in conjunction with the

Spring Gathering, held at Buechel Park Baptist Church, April 29-30, 2011.

Baptist Seminary of Kentucky moving to GeorgetownCollege

Baptist Seminary of Kentucky trustees voted unanimously on May 18 for the

Seminary to move to the campus of Georgetown College in August 2010. Seminary

offices will be located in the college's Anna Ashcraft Ensor Learning Resource Center

    (library).

Seminary trustees and leadership believe this opportunity to be within the

providence of God for Baptist Seminary of Kentucky's future and permanency. The

Seminary continues to raise funds for the cost of refitting space for BSK offices and

other expenses to be incurred in moving. If you are willing to help the Seminary

with a gift of time and/or money, please contact Dr. Greg Earwood at

    [email protected] or 859-455-8191.

2010 Voices United Choir: Kentucky/Morocco Music

ExchangeThe partnership between Kentucky Baptist Fellowship and the Protestant Church in

Morocco (EEAM) continues to be the benchmark for KBF's shared vision for

equipping and empowering churches and Christians, cultivating partnerships, andengaging in mission. We will continue to cultivate this partnership in 2010 as KBF

hosts 12 EEAM students whose voices will combine with 20 voices from Kentucky to

form the 2010 Voices United Choir.

KBF is seeking skilled vocalists and musicians to participate in the Voices United

Choir to lead in worship, workshops and other fellowships at KBF congregations this

fall. The combined choir will learn African songs, teach American worship styles

and liturgy, and assist the EEAM students with workshops.

Kathy Collier will conduct the Voices United Choir. Kathy, Minister of Music and

Worship at Highland Baptist in Louisville, traveled to Morocco in 2009 for the first

Voices United experience and she is excited to help plan this exchange experience

    for Kentucky.
