What is Interoute Jump StartUp?Interoute Jump StartUp is a FREE cloud hosting package designed to give startup businesses and developers 1 year’s access to Interoute Virtual Data Centre (VDC).

Explore and create

Create 2 virtual machines

Jump StartUp gives you 2vCPU, 2GB RAM and 60 GB storage. That’s enough resource to

create 1 virtual machine (1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM, 30 GB storage) in two VDC zones or to explore

other combinations of the available resources.

Explore 2 geographical zones

Jump StartUp lets you create geographically diverse cloud ecosystems, with both our Berlin

and Paris VDC zones available for use as part of the package. Put one VM in each zone to

see the benefits a pan-European network brings. You can move data without incurring data

transfer fees between zones or the internet. Experience super low latency by placing your

content closer to your customers. Use the second VM for active data backups.

Storage product category. Clicking on the Virtual Data Centre Jump StartUp Pack will give

you more information about the offer. Select the green ‘Signup’ button to get started with

Interoute VDC and Jump StartUp.

Getting StartedOnce signed up, you can access your VDC from Interoute CloudStore. This will allow you

to manage your cloud environment. From the ‘My VDC’ homepage on the CloudStore,

you will be able to deploy the virtual machine resources and start using VDC by following

these simple steps.

After clicking on the ‘Virtual Data Centre’ tab at the top of the screen, you will see

the Berlin and Paris zones on the left hand side of the display.

Click on the [insert +] at the bottom of the screen, which will allow you to name and

create your virtual machine. 1 2

Once you have entered your VMs’ information, choose which zone to place your

machine in. Your new machine will open automatically once you have created it.

In the window that opens you will see a split screen. The blank space on the right is

your virtual machine’s workspace, while the left is your application library. To add

one of the templates to your virtual machine, drag and drop it from the apps library

into the virtual machine workspace. Click ‘save’ at the top left of the workspace to

make sure your application template is saved to the virtual machine.

Additional usage tips

Configuring your virtual machines

Hover over the icon of the application template you added to the workspace and select the

cog that appears. In the new window that opens, you will be able to assign RAM, CPU, a

password, and the name of the virtual machine.

Monitoring your use

You can track your Interoute VDC usage through the Control Centre in the My VDC section of

the CloudStore. Once you have logged in, you will see four quadrants: Enterprise Resources,

Running Virtual Appliances, Virtual Data Centres, and Events. Each of these sections helps

you to track your usage, as well as monitor changes and actions in your VDC environment.

Additional points to note

What should I do when my JumpStartUp Package expires?

One year from the date of your initial JumpStartUp sign up, Interoute will begin charging you

for the VDC resources you are using. You may cancel your JumpStartUp package at any time.
