NEEDLEPOINT BAG TAG: Tired of trying to find your luggage in the baggage carousel? This tag will make any bag stand out anywhere. Other ideas include tags for your craft bag, beach bag or handbag. HERE COMES SANTA CLAUS NEEDLEPOINT CLUB: Needlepoint clubs are a great way to re-ceive a project in the mail on a regular basis - and it’s just for you! You will learn new stitches and work with a variety of threads and embellishments - what a won-derful surprise each month! All canvases, featuring a different Santa Claus ornament are Cindy Craig originals and are hand-painted by our fabulous store artist, Susan. Each kit comes with comprehensive stitch guides and charts written by Cindy. All threads are included with each canvas. DATES/TIMES: You will receive each kit around the 15th of the month following your registration. The support class will be on the 3rd or 4th Sunday of the month (be sure to check the calendar at the Studio) First kit will be mailed by June 15, the support classes are Sunday, July 24 and Au-gust 21, 1-3 pm. This club runs from June-October. You can join at any time. FEE: The Club cost is $375 ($75 for each Santa kit (does not include finishing) and it includes a Exclusive Pro-ject Bag for those who make a one time payment. Support classes are $10 for club members. If you prefer to pay by the month, we will take a deposit equal to the cost of the last kit in the club. You will be charged for the first kit and any subsequent kits (except the last one) when they are mailed to you. Payment Terms: Once we receive your club regis-tration and deposit, we will secure your payment information for future kits. A credit card number is required for all clubs. NEEDLEPOINT TRUNK SHOWS You can always find the newest and greatest hand-painted needlepoint canvases at the Studio. New shows are arriving each month.

July’s Trunk Show is Julie Marr & Friends. From flo-rals to fat birdies, gingerbread houses to Judaica and accessories to animals, this trunk show has something for everyone, including small projects for summer trav-els. August’s Trunk Show is Patti Mann. Babies, belts, Christmas decorations, seasonal stuff and some truly unique 3-dimensional Pudgies. This trunk show will surprise and de-light. It is hot in KC and there is cool stuff at the Studio.

SIZZLING SUMMER CHILLS & THRILLS: COME READ WITH US

Knitter and mystery lover Joan Daniels invites Studio custom-ers to join her in reading and meeting some our favorite local mystery writers, who also happen to be Studio customers.

First up on July 17 featuring A Finely Knit Murder by Sally Goldenbaum. Once again those crafty (in more than one way) Seaside Knitters Group unravel the clues to solve a mysteri-ous murder in the small summer vacation town of Seaside be-fore another happens. Sally Goldenbaum will be on hand to sign copies and talk with participants.

August 14 will feature Linda Rodriquez’ new book, Every Broken Trust. Skeet Bannion, chief of campus police (and a knitter!) has her hands full trying to solve a murder in the col-lege’s storage cave possibly linked to an earlier death of her best friend’s husband. Linda will also be on hand to sign books and talk about the life of a mystery series writer. ooBooks can be found at libraries, bookstores and online. FIBER FUN @ THE STUDIO: FOR FREE!!!

Yes the dog days of summer in the Midwest are already upon us even though we are barely past June. But why sit alone at home with your projects when you can come chill for FREE at the Studiio —Join the Tuesday morning Sit & Stitch which opens at 8:30 am and goes until the last person leaves. Participant share tips and techniques and usually snacks that some-one has brought. Often Studio Staff try out new ideas with this group. —Fans of needlepoint have their own special time at Needlepoint Niche, Wednesdays from 1-3 pm. Share ideas and projects as well as snacks (do we see a theme emerging here?) —Create for a cause along with the Studio’s Charity Pro-ject group. Led by Nancy McDonnell, this group knits and crochets a wide variety of things for organizations such as KC Hospice, Bridget’s Cradle, Operation Breakthrough, Cancer Action, Hope Lodge and the VA Hospital. Free patterns and yarns are available. The Charity Project group meets the first Sunday of each month from 1-2:30 pm.
