tiful mother daughter combinations all playing together in the A
grade game. From left Abby and Kelly O’Neill, Taite and Pete

Operation Care Boxwood Hills Friday July 24th At the last Stirlings to Coast Farmers board meeting Ian Evans men-
tioned that our Eastern members were having another very dry year.
Their Chairman Ken Drummond contacted Rick Chadwick at Well-
stead Rural Supplies to see if SCF could reach out to their fellow
farmers. Rick arranged a meeting with a couple of locals, to find out
how we could help. Rick was thinking of hosting a moral boosting
BBQ, Elders also had an event planned so we collaborated and
“Operation Care” was born. The first event let’s have a Party! The
idea took off at warp speed indicating a real need to have a get to-
gether.
Rick was approached by Ag industry companies wanting to lend a
hand. We started a kitty administered by SCF. We would like to thank
them all for their support.
David Gray’s Aglink : Warren Stirrat donated the beer

Bakers Junction: Ray and Ros provided a spit with a pig also 50
BBQ packs and sausages

$500.

Thank you all for your generous support, everyone had a fantastic time. We apologise to those organisations that
would have contributed if they knew about the event. Ken’s family Karen, Harriet and Tara Drummond fed every-
one, along with Phil on the spits. They didn’t stop working all
night. A huge effort Thank you Thank you. Thank you
to Nathan Dovey and his staff at Stirlings to Coast Farmers
thank you for your support.
Well done to Rick and Dawn Chadwick, we are lucky to have
such a community minded couple. We wish them a fantastic
holiday.
The run of dry seasons plus Covid 19 has put incredible strain
on our community, it is events like this that show people care
for each other and the importance of sharing experiences.
Thanks Ken Drummond Stirlings to Coast Chairperson.

ONGERUP DRUM MUSTER FRIDAY 14TH AUGUST 12 noon to 5pm at
Ongerup Rubbish Tip, please make sure your containers have been washed out. Fur-
ther details phone Gerald Slee – 0428 282013 This is a fundraiser for the Ongerup
Golf Club - your support would be appreciated.
ONGERUP P&C NEWS The Ongerup P&C held their first meeting back after
COVID-19 restrictions on Friday 12 June. It was good to see everyone’s faces again –
some we haven’t seen in a while.
With a shaky start to our fundraising efforts this year, the Committee is re-focused to
undertake a few initiatives. These include:-
Vegie Box Raffle: For those of you who have already bought tickets in our fresh Ve-
gie Box raffle – it hasn’t been in vain. Those tickets are still good and we are hoping
to start selling more tickets. If you want a ticket for $2 (or 3 for $5) please see me at
Ongerup Tyres or one of our school parents, who will be happy to sell them to you.
We are happy to deliver to the surrounding area and Albany. Raffle will be drawn at
the end of Term 4.
Battery Drive: Is ongoing. If you have any old batteries lying around, please bring
them into Ongerup Tyres or if you have more than 1 or 2 – we will collect them from
you! Ring us to arrange pick up.
Ongerup Hoodies & Beanies: We are hoping to put together some great Ongerup
hoodies and beanies in the near future. Designs are underway.
Things to Keep Watch For: Ongerup P&C’s own wine label coming soon. Buy a case of mixed wines. Support the
P&C and have fun drinking the wine!
Doralane Food Drive coming up in time for harvest. Order forms for selections will be
coming out in August.
Ongoing recyclables drive. As at 1st October the WA government will be providing a
10c payment back for the collection of approved recyclable items. Ongerup P&C will
be setting up a collection station, possibly at the school, to accept your donations. Also
a good way to keep our roadsides cleaner!
If you want to keep in touch with what’s going on at Ongerup Primary School, the
school has a great little newsletter that comes out regularly. Please contact the school
to receive your copy by email.
Our next meeting is coming up in August. We welcome all parents and community
members to come along.
