    SCHOOL NEWSRobocup

Two teams competed in the Otago Robo Cup competitions last weekend. This competition culminates in many weeks of work building, programming and preparing the Robots for the various events.Liam Black and Oliver Bamford competed in the Search and Rescue section. The Robot was programmed to follow a set course and move a container from its position. This is detailed and precise work and our young competitiors performed well and learnt lots. The Kaikorai Computer Wizzes -Jenny de la Harpe, Ethan Leitch, Holly Mein and Taisei O'Sullivan-Naito were part of the theatre event. Their theme was Harry Potter, complete with music, dance and an explosion from a Robot at the end! The Kaikorai Computer Wizzes were third in this event. A very creditable result and a reflection of the teams hard work and perseverance over a number of weeks. Thanks to Chris Mein who supported and encouraged the team along the way.
