Please send all information by email to [email protected]. Deadline to submit info for the bulletin is 4 pm Friday

Word or Publisher document as an attachment. Thank you, Parish Office.

    Dear Family,

A good friend of mine, Dr. James Kennedy, used to quote an Indian

poet that said I dreamt that life was joy. I woke and realized that

life was service. Behold, I acted and service became joy. Last

week in my homily, I talked about how important hospitality was

and how we encounter God in every person and stranger we meet. Hospitality

and service are two sides of one coin. Both are equally important. I want to

honor all of our parish and school staff for the service they give to you by their

caring and loving and also the many ministries that affect the lives of people

    here at St. Dennis.

The world looks at service as a lowly position. I see service as the lofty

position of honor. I would like to thank all of you for your service to one

another, especially those in families (father, mother and children) who service

one another willingly and knowingly that they are doing so because of Jesus

command to serve one another as I have served you. I would especially l ike

to thank the religious of our parish for serving us: Sister Joanne, Sister Ellen,

Fr. Thomson, Fr. Mark and Deacon Rob. We all honor you!

    In the Lords Love,

    Fr. Jim Curtin

    Todays Scripture Readings

Gen 18:20-32 Abraham barters with God.

Ps 138:1-3, 6-8 Lord, I called and you answered me.

Col 2:12-14 Jesus gives us life and forgives our sins.

Luke 11:1-13 Jesus teaches the disciples to pray.

The truth of today's psalm: Lord, on the day

I called for help, you answered me, may not

always be apparent. There are times when

we pray and it seems that God is either not

listening or is unwilling to give us what we

want. The Scriptures tell us to be persistent

praying; that in God's time our prayers are

    answered.
