CHURCH SOFTBALL NEWS Our team won both of the make-up games last weekend. Congratulations to everyone! Great job!! The Tournament is/was being held this weekend, with games on both Friday and Saturday evenings. The results of those games will be in the bulletin next weekend.

A very special thank you goes to Fr. Cas for all his phone calls and visits. Without family and friends we wouldn’t be able to get thru life.

DONATIONS & PRAYERS NEEDED Baby Whitney Neville, the daughter of Doug & Miranda Neville, was born with three holes in her heart. She underwent surgery to repair her heart at a hospital in Maryland. Although the surgery was successful she has good days and bad days and will need to remain in the hospital for at least another month. First Citizens Bank is accepting donations for her family. These donations will help with medical expenses and expenses incurred to help Mom and Dad be with her as much as possible. If you would like to donate, the bank has locations in LeRaysville, Rome, and Towanda. Please keep Whitney and her family in your prayers as she continues her long journey of healing.

190th St. Augustine’s Annual Picnic—Sunday, August 3rd Calendar of Events: Currently—Raffle Tickets and Food Donations may be placed in the collection basket THIS weekend. If you haven’t put yours in the collection by THIS Sunday, please return by mail to the Rectory. July 26/27—Advance tickets may be purchased at the weekend Masses. Advance tickets are $ 8.50. This weekend is your last chance to get advance sale tickets. Tickets at the door are $ 9.00. July 27—(Sunday) Coleslaw will be made from 11:30AM to 1:00PM at Neumann Hall. Advance tickets will also be available. August 1—(Friday) Preparations for Picnic will begin at 8:00AM. August 2—(Saturday)—Preparations for Picnic will begin at 8:00AM. RABIES CLINIC AT LITTLE MEADOWS FIRE STATION A Rabies Clinic will be held a the Little Meadows Fire Station THIS Monday, July 28th from 5 to 6PM. All animals need to be in a carrier or on a leash. The cost is $ 10.00.

FREE ICE CREAM SOCIAL A FREE ICE CREAM SOCIAL will be held THIS Tuesday, July 29th from 6:30 to 8:00PM, at the Little Meadows United Methodist Church. All are welcome to attend.

CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL CONFERENCE This conference will be held at the University of Scranton—August 1st-3rd. The full-weekend registration fee is $65. Single-day registration is available. For Registration Forms call the CCR Office at 570-344-2214, or email [email protected] .

DIOCESAN COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN’S DAY OF RECOLLECTION The Scranton Diocesan Council of Catholic Women’s Day of Recollection will be held on Wednesday, August 6th at The Villa of Our Lady Retreat House, 245 Meadowside Rd., Mt. Pocono, PA. The day will begin at 8:00AM and conclude by 2:30PM. There will be a spiritual talk, reconciliation, Mass, prayer time and a rosary. Monsignor Vincent Grimalia will be the spiritual director. The fee is $35.00 which includes a continental breakfast and lunch. NEUMANN CENTER BOTTLE & CAN DRIVE The CYO basketball teams are sponsoring a bottle & can drive to replace the scoreboard control box. Donations can be left at Neumann Hall Tuesday nights between 6 and 9PM or anytime at the Vestal Center Redemption Center, Route 26 next to the Car Wash and VanDervort’s Mini Mart. (Just mention your donations are to benefit St. Brigid Parish/CYO.) Thank you for your support.

POT O’GOLD PARTY

Our new Parish fund raiser is called “St. Brigid Parish ~ Pot O’Gold Party” and will be held on October 18th, 2014 at 6:00PM in Neumann Hall, Choconut. This will be an “Elimination Party”. A limited number (115) tickets are available at $ 100.00 each and need to be sold by October 1st. Each ticket admits one person plus a guest to the party. Included in the ticket price will be beer/wine/and buffet style food. Over $ 8000.00 in prizes will be awarded including a grand prize of $ 3000.00. Everyone who buys a ticket will go home with at least a door prize. On the day of the party at inter-mission as many raffle tickets as possible will be sold for $ 5.00 each for (8) separate raffles for (8) more $ 100.00 tickets. There will also be as many raffle tickets as possible sold for $ 10.00 each for (2) separate raffles for (2) more $ 100.00 tickets. These final (10) tickets can only be awarded to someone who already holds one of the original 115 tickets. If you would like to purchase a “Pot O’Gold” Party ticket, please contact John or Mary Butler (570-553-2199) or the Parish Office (570-553-2288). Parishioners are encouraged to get their tickets early. We need help from individual Parishioners/individual people or families/businesses in the following ways. We need (12) more sponsors of $ 100.00 each; and (1) sponsor (or a few to share the sponsorship)

of $ 3,000.00. (We already have sponsors for (2) $ 500.00 prizes; (2) $ 250.00 prize; (13) $ 100.00 prizes; and (1) $ 1500.00 prize.) If you would like to be a sponsor, please call the Parish Office (570-553-2288) OR call John or Mary Butler (570-553-2199). We need donations of a total of 96 door prizes. These could include bottles of wine, restaurant

gift certificates, other gift certificates, bird feeders, bird feed, gift baskets, lottery tickets, sewing supplies, shop supplies, work lights, a pallet of stone, Irish items, items for pets, gardening items, etc. Only your imagination is the limit on what one of these prizes could be. If you can
