Happy Canada Day It is a special blessing to be able to welcome everyone to another year with one of the dy-namic organizations which are permitted to exist and flourish in a free and special country. Our role as members of the Knights is one of compassion, charity, kindness and patriotism. We are a brotherhood which stands together in friendship and with a goal to support each oth-er in our faith. As your Grand Knight, I will call on all to pro-vide advice and counsel and assist in imple-mentation of the many actions that we have planned this year. Our focus is Faith in the community, and we will continue to work with our Parishes and others to show that our principles are always present in all that we do. Special acknowledgement and thanks go to Roberto Pegoraro, who is the past grand knight and has been elected to be Deputy Grand Knight. Thanks so much for your guid-ance and friendship. Thanks to Henry Thissen, Giuseppe Peritore, Dennis Celej, past Grand Knights who have worked selfishly and tire-lessly to allow Council 3881 to grow and be a success. they sit on this years’ executive so we will have their continued advice and support. Thanks, to Rob Harason, Conor Boyd, Mike Quesnelle, Mike Kuschei and Arthur O’Sulli-van who will continue to serve on council ex-ecutive this year We have some new members, Anthony Danko, your new Treasurer, Roger Alfaro,
your new Recorder, and Will Harroun, your new Guard, who take on these challenging roles. They will handle these new roles effec-tively and positively. Andrew Eckstein, Lecturer, and Mario Rodri-guez, our Agent continue to fill roles which help council succeed. Bob Federico is our Financial Secretary; He has filled this role the last 3 years and his knowledge and insight is invaluable. With appreciation and best wishes, I report Joe Earls has resigned. We know we will see him at Council events. Thanks, Joe for your contri-butions to our organization. Going forward we will continue to do our best. We will ask for your help and encourage you to volunteer and get involved, meet new peo-ple and enjoy the benefits of belonging to Council 3881. We accomplish our goals because of you, our members, participating in events, meetings and all things KOC Working together as a team we can achieve so much more. Vivat Jesus. Bob Grouchy

WINTER COATS: The Bronte Village Stakeholders Commu-nity Coat Redistribution Day will run for the 8th year on October 19, 2019. St. Dominic is a founding member of this organization together with Church of the Epiphany and Walton United Church. We have had a very successful Redistribution Day each year – giving out approximately 1,000 coats to new and happy owners at the rate of one coat per person in attendance – it’s a very busy day! Please consider us for the coats you are finished with – we do not resell the coats, all of our workers are volunteers and our premises, cartage and storage are all donated by local organi-zations. We will have two big days for collection – September 14th and 21st in the St. Dominic Church Parking lot from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, but we wanted to ask you before then as folks have said they want them out of their closets. contact Rod Rafauli at 905 691 4700.

I am hoping to get a couple of Knights to help with the barbe-cuing. Please let me know if you have any questions or other ideas for the September meetings. I would like to encourage all wives and widows to join us. We have a lot fun, usually good food, sometimes a glass wine and best of all good friendship. We meet 3 times a year, May September and December. Member-ship is $10.00 a year and usually paid at the September meeting.. Please remember all our members and their families in your prayers, Happy Canada Day! Irene [email protected]
