RAYMOND VINEYARDS 2017 FAMILY CLASSIC CABERNET SAUVIGNON, NORTH COAST*This beautiful wine is a blend of three vineyards in the north coast with the majority of the fruit harvested from the prestigious Red Hills appellation of Lake County. This wine opens with enticing blackberry aromas with notes of black tea and tobacco. Rich flavors of black cherry and plum are balanced with earthy characteristics. BUENA VISTA 2018 PINOT GRIS, SONOMA COUNTY NEW VINTIAGE RELEASE!
The Count identified the Sonoma Valley climate and soil as the optimal location within the County for growing quality Pinot Gris. We honor his vision with The Count’s Selection Pinot Gris, which was fermented in stainless steel tanks with a small amount in neutral oak. Our 2018 Pinot Gris is bursting with aromas of white peach, nectarine and a slight floral accent. This richly flavored wine offers flavors of apricot, fennel and a touch of orange zest. Our 2018 Pinot Gris is an exceptionally soft and light white wine featuring undertones of warm stone and spice with well-balanced acidity.

ARTICHOKE & TOMATO
PANZANELLA
Preparation:
Place a grill pan over medium-high heat or preheat a gas or charcoal grill. Drizzle the bread and artichoke hearts with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Grill the bread and artichokes until golden brown at the edges, about 6 minutes total, turning every 2 to 3 minutes. Remove the bread and artichokes from the grill and transfer to a large bowl.
Add the tomatoes, olives and basil to the bowl and toss to combine. In a small bowl, stir together the olive oil, white wine vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Drizzle the dressing over the salad. Toss to combine and serve.

• 3 C 1 1/2-inch-cubed whole-wheat bread• One 10-ounce package frozen
artichoke hearts, thawed (2C)• 2/3 C extra-virgin olive oil, plus
more for drizzling• 1/2 tsp salt, plus more for seasoning
• 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper, plus more for seasoning
• 3 large red tomatoes, cut into wedges (about 2 lbs)
• 1 C pitted black olives, halved• 3/4 C chopped fresh basil leaves
(about 1 bunch)

The second vineyard is nestled in the Russian River Valley region of Sonoma County where the cooler climate allows for bright acidity to shine through. The Raymond 2018 Curated Collection North Coast Sauvignon Blanc is bursting with bright citrus and chalk aromas from the glass. A full, tangy mouthfeel on the palate leads to flavors of gooseberry, lime, fresh orange blossom and a hint of minerality with a long, racy finish. This wine shines with bright acidity that makes this a thirst-quenching wine on a hot summer day.

California wine lovers may be most familiar with Napa and Sonoma counties, but more and more exceptional wine is emerging from the next coastal county to the north: Mendocino. Mendocino is a very large county – larger than Sonoma, Napa and Lake counties combined – that marks the southern end of California’s wild and windswept “Long Coast”.
Mendocino’s southern boundary may only be 90 miles north of San Francisco, but this area is quite remote and off the beaten wine-country track, accessed by following the Russian River upstream from Healdsburg, past Cloverdale near the county line.
Viticulturally-speaking, Mendocino’s climate is quite similar to Sonoma, in that its western reaches are cooled by ocean breezes and fog, while its eastern terrain grows warmer and drier as it stretches into the interior. But, since Mendocino’s topography is mountainous, the area was historically difficult to farm, or even to access by road, which helps explain why it is so sparsely populated.
Of Mendocino’s eleven distinct “American Viticultural Areas”, or AVAs, the jewel in the crown is undoubtedly the Anderson Valley, a hidden stretch of gentler slopes that flank the Navarro River on its way to the sea. Anderson Valley’s growing conditions are remarkably similar to those found in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, and this area similarly excels with Pinot
Noir and Chardonnay, and even sparkling wines. With vineyards warmed by day under clear skies and cooled by fog and breezy nights, this region has perfect conditions to make brilliantly balanced and expressive wines that channel the timeless beauty and food-oriented grace of classic Burgundian wines.
