TED WILLIAMS: The Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived

This five-part dramatic series is set against the backdrop of a posh New England boarding school. There, a group of intelligent and diverse student

staffers from The Pierce Gazette investigate Alfred Pierce Preparatory School’s most exciting and bizarre mysteries. In the premiere episode, the

school becomes a hotbed for suspense and intrigue after a prank targets the associate headmaster.

This year's program includes musical performances by Jimmy Buffett and the Broadway

cast of Escape to Margaritaville, The Beach Boys, Pentatonix, The Temptations, Luke Combs,

Lauren Alaina, CeCe Winans, Joshua Bell and Renée Fleming. The National Symphony Orchestra

will accompany the most iconic fireworks display in the U.S.A. celebrating our freedom and independence with a special tribute to our American military heroes and their families.

John Stamos returns to host the 38th annual broadcast of the festivities.

Hosted by renowned chef Marcus Samuelsson, No Passport Required is a new six-part PBS/Eater series that takes viewers on an inspiring

journey across the U.S. to explore and celebrate the wide-ranging diversity of immigrant

traditions and cuisine woven into American food and culture. Each week, Marcus — an

immigrant himself — visits a new city to discover the dynamic and creative ways a particular

community has made its mark. A vibrant portrait of America today, No Passport Required features

musicians, poets, chefs, business owners, artists, community leaders and home cooks who have enhanced the nation’s culture and cuisine.

The Kansas City Symphony’s 16th annual patriotic concert event is the largest FREE

Memorial Day weekend festival in the Midwest! From a moving symphony concert to the city’s grandest fireworks display, nothing celebrates our military and veterans quite like Bank of

America Celebration at the Station.

Television personality, journalist and gourmet food writer Nigella Lawson hosts a delicious celebration of home cooking — the food that makes people feel

happy and welcome as they sit around the table. Whether offering her fresh take on familiar classics,

or creating new dishes inspired by different cuisines, Nigella ensures that everyday eating is

always pleasurable, with a minimum of fuss.

During his remarkable career with the Boston Red Sox, Ted Williams earned many nicknames - The Kid, The Splendid Splinter and Teddy Ballgame, but the only nickname that he wanted was “the greatest hitter who ever lived.” In that pursuit, he combined his preternatural gifts with a fierce work ethic to become widely regarded as one of the great-est ever to play the game of baseball and in the process elevated the science of hitting in ways still emulated today.

Journalists Pilar Pedraza, Kirk Seminoff and Russell Fox

will question the five candidates on a wide range of issues in a

pre-recorded debate.

Candidates Carl Brewer, Laura Kelly, Josh Svaty,

Arden Anderson and Jack Bergeson have been invited.

Viewers will have the opportunities to ask their own

questions via Facebook Live on July 17 at 6:30PM.

This one-hour show will feature the latest news from City Hall and the opportunity for viewers to phone in questions to the mayor and other city officials. It will also provide the

opportunity for the mayor to share with the people of Wichita the accomplishments, goals and new developments of the city.

Call the Mayor: Wichita will air the fourth Thursday of every month.
