Brethren, I would like to wish everyone and their families a very Happy 4th of July! This is one of my favorite holidays and it is a great time to reflect on the sacrifice and struggle that our forefathers faced when developing our great nation. Many of these men were Masons and I am proud to be a part of the same fraternity as these amazing men in history. I would ask that you make a point to thank anyone that you know (many of our brothers) that are serving or have served in the armed forces to protect the great freedoms that we celebrate and enjoy on this special holiday. I would like to congratulate brothers Daniel Arjona, Mike McKeen, and Wesley Dolinski on their Fellow Craft returns. These fine men will be raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on July 29th starting at 10am. Please come out and support these brothers as they are raised. This degree will be our first Saturday degree and brunch will be served between the 1st and 2nd sessions. Our Senior Warden will be sitting in the East and is sure to impress you! I'd also like to invite all of our brothers and their families to our July Family Night event at the Oviedo Bowling Center on July 29th. It will be a good chance to have some food, fellowship, and fun! More details will follow, so keep an eye on our Facebook page and your email. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to myself. A quick reminder that our Official DDGM Visit will occur on July 24th. I would like to ask ALL Master Masons to attend as it will be a night full of information and a great opportunity for us to welcome our new DDGM.

Please remember that we will be dark the first meeting of July. We will return to our normal schedule beginning in August. Speaking of August, we will be hosting Masters & Wardens and will need assistance from our brothers, not only Master Masons, but EA's and FC's. We will be exemplifying the EA Degree for our first DSOI in August and would love to see a great turnout to encourage our fabulous EA Degree team. Thank you brothers and I look forward to seeing you in Lodge soon! Fraternally, Tim Shelton Worshipful Master

My Brothers, I have decided to start out each month saying that I am so privileged to be a part of such a great Lodge and honored to be your Senior Warden. 2017 has been a busy year so far. We continue to have new brothers enter the craft and go through the degrees. In June, three brothers returned their FC catechism. Our next degree will be our first Master Mason (MM) degree the year, which is scheduled for 29 July at 10:00 a.m. We will raise Brothers Daniel Arjona, Wesley Dolinski, and Michael McKeen to the sublime degree of MM. I continue to challenge our Brothers to attend the Stated Communications. This is how we plan and communicate our 2017 year and beyond. Growth starts and continues with communications. I challenge all brothers to continue their education. As the chair of the Masonic Education Committee, I will be continue to work to strengthen our Mentor program. I continue to encourage the Craft to go to open books. This is an excellent opportunity to not only learn something new, but keep your catechism/obligation fresh in your mind. By keeping this fresh in our minds, it will help us mentor the new Masons that we have going through the degrees. Open books are normally held at Winter Park on the 4th Saturday of the month.

In the month of July, WM Tim Shelton and I at-tended a briefing by Masonic Education Zone Chairman (R:.W:. Ed Sexton) on the upcoming changes. As voted at the Grand Lodge this year, all incoming Junior Wardens must pass the Master Mason I, II, & III exam before they can sit in the chair. These exams are on the Grand Lodge Web-site. So all brothers who are in the line or want to become a JW to take the exam as soon as you can. One note of interest, these tests will be changing soon. Also, the Masonic Education Points for the Masonic Education Award were discussed. For us to get an award, we need 70 points. I will be send-ing out an excel file that allows each of us to track our education activities for the year. I encourage all brothers to fill this out so we can get this award. Speaking of education, we will also have education on the second stated communication of every month. In June, I did a presentation on the differ-ence between Stated and Called Communications. I will be doing a presentation on the Master Mason degree, meanings and symbols in the coming months. So I encourage our brothers to attend. I thank you all again for the honor and privilege to serve as your Senior Warden. I look forward to us seeking more light together.

Fraternally, Greg Seavers Senior Warden

Greetings From The South, Summer is upon us and I have a couple of themed dinners. This month we will have a Spaghetti Din-ner with garlic rolls. The property is coming along having an outside company just cut our grass. Thanks to our 3 Fellowcrafts who fixed our mow-er, we will be cutting our own grass soon. Con-gratulations also goes out to them for just having passed their respective proficiency returns. We are planning our Master Mason Degree at the end of this month and a light brunch will be provided for all. Fraternally, Tomm Hildebrandt Junior Warden

Brothers,

Keep our Officers and Brethren in your prayers for wisdom and guidance. Please keep our country and it's leadership in your prayers, every day. We know that all things work together for good for those who have faith and believe in God.

“Supreme Architect of the Universe, thank you for my continued health, and the health of all of my Brethren. Amen.”

100th Anniversary In 2017, Oviedo Masonic Lodge No. 243 will be 100

years old! We have enjoyed a rich history and have a

lot to be proud of and thankful for. This fall, we are

planning to celebrate our 100th Anniversary and

invite all Masons in the District as well as Oviedo

dignitaries. The events planned will involve a

rededication ceremony at our building cornerstone

for all Masons during the week via a Called

Communication. We will then follow up with a

celebration of food and fun that weekend following

the rededication. We respectfully request your

participation and please invite friends and family.

The event is scheduled for October 21st. To

commemorate this glorious occasion, we have 100th

Anniversary pins (as designed by our very own

Junior Warden). A committee has been appointed

and the committee is as follows:

Secretary’s Corner Please mail your dues promptly, as repeated notifications cost time and money that could be better spent on other worthy Lodge activities! Remember - when we petitioned to join Freemasonry, we all agreed to pay our dues promptly at the beginning of the year!

Also please notify me of any change of address, phone numbers, and your affiliation with any appendant Masonic organization, so we can keep your records up-to-date. Thank you,

W:. Tom Bryson
