ON YOUR MARK, GET

SET, SUMMER READ!

Another summer is upon us and with that comes another year of the summer

reading program. This year’s theme for libraries across the country is: On Your

Mark, Get Set, Read! which entails all things sports and staying active. But, the

Outreach Department here at WPL won’t make you jump over any hurdles for a

prize.

All you have to do is write your name on one of our nifty reading score cards

(just like the golden tickets from last year) and return them to us during our de-

livery days in July and August for a chance to be entered for a prize. If you write

a description of a book or movie you enjoyed on the back of the score card you

will be entered for a chance to win a grand prize, brought to you by amazing

local sponsors. It doesn’t get any easier than that! Keep a lookout for a score

card in your green delivery bag starting in June. Prizes will be delivered in Sep-

tember.

This event will be held from 6:30—8:30 pm in meeting room A .Painting experience

won't be needed at this simple, stress-free session. Artist Marian Lerner will guide

you in replicating the night's featured painting.

Take home the cookbook of the month and explore the recipes at your own

pace. Every fourth Monday, bring your favorite dish from the book to share

with the group, try other recipes & discuss your experiences. This event

August 1, 2016 The Water For Congo Project

In 1970, Fred Suter, as a volunteer in the Democratic Republic of the Congo,

often stayed overnight in villages where local women worked hard to provide

food, clean spring water to drink and a bed. A lack of close access to clean

water is a huge problem in much of rural Africa. Hear how Fred is training
