Topic: The usefulness of PPJJ USM e-learning portal

In these days and ages, internet plays a crucial role for various communication

systems around the globe. Evidently, there are countless websites, blogs, social networks

and many others online sites operated daily. The e-learning portal of Program Pendidikan

Jarak Jauh Universiti Sains Malaysia (PPJJ USM) is one of the best examples of the online

educational tools. As a student, e-learning portal provides me abundant benefits, thus

making me study comfortably and happily.

Firstly, e-learning portal is easily accessible. Students not required to posses advance

computer knowledge to access it. Furthermore, it can be reached by students via online at

anytime and anywhere. As a married working adult, time is very essential to me.

Nevertheless, the online availability of the e-learning portal allows me to update myself in

my study at my own pace and time.

Secondly, e-learning portal is an effective study application. Besides user-friendly, it

combines variety of media and interactive tools. I can easily get the notes and video

attachments given by my lecturers accordingly. Moreover, the discussion forums and online

streaming allows me to keep in touch with my lecturers and my fellow friends. Therefore,

e-learning portal gives me more control in my study.

Lastly, e-learning portal is cost-efficient. The traditional classroom style incurs a lot

of costs including travel and material costs. Contrarily, e-learning portal can be attended at

my home without spending much money on the process. Furthermore, e-learning portal

deliver lots of paperless study materials while having the comparable quality with the

traditional classroom.

In conclusion, e-learning portal provides many benefits to me as a student enrolling

PPJJ USM education program. It is simply accessible, effective and money saving. The

PPJJ USM Center should continue to improve the quality and functions of the e-learning

portal so that students can fully utilize the provided information and the learning materials.
