Judging Houses

1. When a house lord occupies 6th, 8 th, or 12 th house from ascendant, the house concernedwill have a lot of troubles.

2. When the 8 th lord is situated in the 6 th, 3 rd, or 1 st house, health will be adversely affected.

from its house, (not sign) it weakensand harms the properties of the house where that planet is lord of.4. Malefic/s 6 th, 8 th, 12 th from any sign will destroy and harm the house where that sign is.5. House affaires will be fully experienced only if the lords of various houses occupy an

angle, trine or succedent (upachayas) from the respective houses provided it occupiestrine, angle and succedent from the ascendant.

6. If the lords of the houses occupy 12 th, 2 nd or 8 th from their own house, affairs will notmaterialize and very little good will be experienced, even though it occupies trine, angleor succedent houses from the ascendant. The native will not enjoy the fruits signified bythe house.

7. Planets in the last degrees of a sign will not give good results except for Venus whenexalted in the last amsa of a certain sign or in vargottama position.

8. If Jupiter is an angular lord, it will not become death inflicting planet if it occupies trineor angle unless it is also a maraka planet when considered from the position of the natalmoon.

9. When a planet, whether malefic or benefic, becomes a 6 th, 8 th, or 12 th lord, its aspects tohouse or planets will destroy the affairs of the house it aspects and occupies.

10. If the 8 th lord is strong (any placement in the natal chart) the good effects of planet will beexperienced during the major and minor period of the said planet, regardless if its anatural malefic or benefic planet.

11. If the 8 th lord is weak, bad results will be experienced. (same ruling as no. 10)12. Any planet, sandwiched by two malefics, will give evil results regarding matters the

planet signifies. If at the same time, it is a dusthana lord, the power to do harm willincrease.

13. The aspects of any planet, being a lord of trines and angles, will produce good resultseven if it is in exact 180 degrees apart or both the planets are exact conjunct in any signs.

14. A natural benefic planet will improve the house it aspects and occupies. But if it occupiesdusthana houses (6 th, 8 th, 12 th) all its significations will be weakened and will give evilresults during its major and minor period.

15. Any natural malefic planet, wherever it occupies and aspects, will destroy the affairs of ahouse. But if the said planet and its aspects are coming from any of these houses (3 rd, 6 th

or 11 th) the rays will give good results only during its major and minor periods. In termsof health during major and minor periods of planets situated in the 6 th house, it can bedetrimental.
