Happy Holidays
The holiday season gives me a special opportunity to
extend a personal thanks to all of you for being part
of Roseville Commons, we couldn’t do it without your
kindness, words of wisdom and your support.
December is going to be a wonderful month with
special holiday events. Please come and join in to make
the holiday spirit come alive. Make sure you check out
the calendar for the wonderful holiday programs and
delicious holiday meals.
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year,
seeing all the beautiful lights and decorations,
volunteering to help others who are less fortunate;
but, most of all, spending time with my family and
friends. Everyone can give a little holiday spirit with
just a simple smile or kind words, this is very special
to the people who do not have family members during
the holidays; wouldn’t this be great if we did this all
year long, not just during the holidays? Let’s be kind
all year long.
I would like to give a very special thank you to all the
dining/kitchen staff, office staff, housekeepers,
maintenance and night porters for all their hard work
during the year. We are looking forward to another
great year at Roseville Commons and excited to see
what the New Year will bring us. Many blessings to
everyone to stay healthy.
Happy Holidays & warm wishes everyone!
Juanita

Marketing Moments
It is almost impossible for me to believe that December is here! It has been such a whirlwind, wonderful year filled with amazing activities, fabulous fun, delicious food and more shining moments than sad ones! During this magical month of joy and love … Don’t see everyone’s flaws Don’t listen to everything you’re told (unless, of course, it comes from Juanita!)
Don’t speak if it’s not kind Always look for the good in people And know that not everything said about someone is truth
Be sure to read the Rose Review not once but twice and join Tina’s Activity Talk on the 1st so you don’t miss anything! In the midst of all the hustle and bustle of the season, please take a moment to remember and honor the valiant servicemen, women and civilians who lost their lives during that fateful attack on Pearl Harbor 75 years ago.
From my family to you and yours May lovely, happy times decorate your Holiday May warm, special memories brighten your New Year
May the wonder of Christmas be with you forever!
Marlene
Dress for Warmth Going outside? Wear warm socks, a heavy coat, a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. In very cold temperatures, cover all exposed skin. Use a scarf to cover your mouth and protect your lungs. If walking outside wear the proper shoes for the weather, watch out for water puddles and or ice patches when you are out and about.
Be Prepared
During Winter there is a possible chance of having a power outage, so be prepared with a flashlight close to your bed, or somewhere you are able to get to it easily, without tripping or falling, make sure you have new batteries in your flashlight. We want to make sure you are safe.
Fight Wintertime Blues Because it can be difficult and dangerous to get around, many seniors have less contact with others during cold months. This can breed feelings of loneliness and isolation, so make sure you are all coming down and interacting with the other residents. We have lots of activities going on, on a daily basis. Come down and play bingo, Pokeno, Wii bowling, poker, Mexican train, partake during our social events, we have exercising classes in the morning keep yourself fit and healthy, don’t let the winter blues get too you! Check out your calendar every day to see what’s going on. If you have never come to our Ceramics class you are missing out on lots of fun, it’s a time to let your creative juices flow.
All in all, stay warm, dry, healthy and Happy!
Tina
Here Comes Santa Claus
Ho Ho Ho, do we have a lot of fun this month, to start off the Holiday Spirit you all will hopefully be decorating your doors to be judged on December 20th. I’m very excited about this contest, I can’t wait to see all of your creative decorations. Remember only the door can be decorated, and each floor will have one winner. Good Luck!
On Tuesday December 6th at 1pm we are having the author Darwin Patnode come out and speak on "Inside the Christmas Stories of Charles Dickens." Darwin will talk tells about the things in Dickens' life that influenced his writing, five characteristics of his style of writing, and his Christmas stories, including but not limited to 'A Christmas Carol.'"
One of our Friday outings we will be going out to look at all the beautiful Christmas lights & decorations throughout the neighborhoods on December 9th at 6:00pm, so make sure you sign up in the book, located on
the desk in the front hall by the office. We also will be making a trip to the Sunrise Mall for some Christmas shopping and lunch on December 23rd, there should be lots of deals that day!
Our Happy Hours and Saturday Socials have been a hit, hope you all have been enjoying the entertainers and the goodies. This month we have lots of fun planned for you, starting it off with Mike Ely, we also have a special Christmas show on Thursday December 22nd by Encore, and the ladies will be putting on a wonderful show. To top it all off with our New Year’s Eve Party with DJ Will on Saturday December 31st from 6-9pm, come ring in the New Year with us!
Happy Holidays,
Tina
Culinary Corner
Happy Holidays Roseville Residents! I hope you all have been enjoying the colder weather and warmer foods! We have a ton of fun activities in December with little food treats for you along the way.
Our Christmas meal this year will be decadent. We will be serving a luscious Prime Rib with Au Jus and Creamy Horseradish, as well as a juicy Pineapple
Glazed Christmas Ham with all the fixin’s! It will be a great feast for you and your families.
Not to be outdone, I will be serving an elegant New Year’s Eve dinner to welcome in the New Year with
style!
We will be having your choice of Rack of Lamb with Rosemary Balsamic Reduction OR a Poached Herb
Salmon topped with Prawns and Champagne Cream Sauce. It’s the last day of
the year and we plan to finish it off with class and elegance. I hope you will all enjoy. Stay warm out there in the cold and bring your appetites to warm yourself up in the dining room! Happy Holidays,
Chef Brian
