INTRODUCTIONJuanita High School is proud to announce the development of the Juanita High School Branding Guide. This manual will serve as the template for usage of all Juanita High School logos, brand marks, and word marks. The Branding Guide has been developed to provide a clean, concise, consistent brand image for Juanita High School.

Why we brand

Graphic identity marks are symbols created to support the public recognition of an institution, organization, or corporation. Each day we see graphic marks that bring recognition to name-brand products or services. Schools employ identifying marks to develop recognition among students, alumni, and the greater community.

When it comes to developing a brand, consistency is key. This guide is an assembly of practices to assist in properly using the graphic identity marks that represent Juanita High School. Using the brand identity system in a consistent manner will build credibility for the brand, speed recognition, and differentiate Juanita from the competition.

At its core, our brand is our reputation. It represents who we are as an institution and stands for our aspirational goals and ideals. It represents who we are as an institution and sets the direction for how we would like to be perceived by the general public, our students, our faculty and staff, our alumni and our friends.

Juanita High first opened its doors in 1971 with students from Lake Washington and Redmond High Schools. These students established our Rebel mascot, and red, white, and blue as our school colors.

A close second to our Juanita Rebel was the Juanita Eagles. The Rebel symbolizes our break from tradition in the same manner as the thirteen colonies broke from England. The eagle was placed above our crest as a compromise for those who wanted the eagle to be our mascot. The mountain is Mt. Rainier; and the water represents Puget Sound and Lake Washington.

Typography is a powerful tool within our society that plays an important role in communicating an overall tone. The Juanita High School brand makes use of two typefaces to aid in creating a consistent identity and look for a wide variety of communications: Fanatix and Magneton. Both

are freely available and when used properly, create a distinct contrast.


PROPER ARTWORK USAGE

These guidelines are not set in stone, nor are they meant to be rigid and unyielding. Requests for variations in the use of logos should be submitted to the Juanita High School campus administration for consideration.

All Juanita logos must stay at their original ration without any covering. No Juanita logo should be modified, converted, stretched, compressed or distorded in any way.

At no time should Juanita logos be used with any other colors than those specifically designated in the Colors section.

No Juanita logo should be outlined in any way other than how specified in the Logo Color Options sections.

At no time should logos be placed over each other or combined unless the artwork has been provided by Juanita High School. Otherwise, all Juanita Logos must stand alone.

Do not invert the colors of any Juanita logo incorrectly. Only use color variations specified as correct in this document.
