Supervise and monitor the day to day activities of the drilling crew which included making sure they were motivated, working safely, and completing tasks in a timely matter. Ensure that all employees wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Conduct and supervise regular safety meetings. Attend pre-tour meetings on a daily basis to make sure all goals and objectives are set for the current day. Inspect drilling rig and ensure that it meets compliance with all regulatory body standards. Maintain drilling rig as to always operate with safe well control practices in mind. Keep a daily log on the daily well history that includes drilling rate, any problems encountered and downtime etc. Update the rig manager on any unusual occurrence or changes in the hole condition that could affect productivity or compromise the crew members safety. Participate in any test to the equipment that is required throughout the drilling process. Preserve good safety practices and housekeeping while overseeing rig out and rig up activities.
