Their functions are related to immune reactions.
Morphologically they can be classified into small (6-8 m) medium (10-14 m) and large (> 18 m).

Usually appear in clusters.
The cell is coated with GAG and glycoproteins.

Actin and myosin are seen in the hyalomere.
