Conclusion
‘Arise, awake and stop not till the goalis reached’ must be our watchword.
If we make our thoughts, words and
deeds sacred, there can be no better
way of coming out of evil, ill-will and
dependency. The teachers must be
prepared to put the values into
practice themselves, which theyprofess to others. Therefore, the
strategy of value education is a
challenge for the members of the
present day society. Values abound
in Indian ethos. Our villagers may
not know the great happenings in the
world. They may not know that Pluto
lost its ‘planet’ status and Man had
set foot on Moon. They may notknow who the presidents of various
republics are. They may not even
know that Indian currency has
obtained a universal symbol. But they
know to distinguish ‘right’ from
‘wrong’, ‘good’ from ‘evil’ and ‘pure’
from ‘impure’. Their value system isguided by epics and folklores.
So, Values can also be ‘caught’.
