The seeds of JSS Mahavidyapeetha years ago by Adi Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogigalu established Jagadguru Sri Veera Simhasana Math at Suttur.

JSSMVP is the vision and foresight of His Holiness, Jagadguru Late rdSri Sri Sri Dr. Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, the 23 Pontiff of

the 1000 year old Suttur Mutt.

His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji the th24 Pontiff of Suttur Mutt, Suttur, near Mysore is steering the

success of over 350 institutions and programmes in the field of Engineering, Medicine, Management Education, Dental sciences, Pharma sciences, Naturopathy, Nursing, Law, General education, Vocational and Spiritual education.

JSSMVP is a culmination of a half century of perseverance in the field of education steered by the philosophy of noble minds characterized by intense involvement and social commitment to community development. The Institutions are spread across the states of Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Utter Pradesh in India, and in other parts of the world such as Dubai, Mauritius and the USA.

The JSS Centre for Management Studies has the unique ambience being in a central

location of JSS Technical Institutions Campus in the heart of Manasagangothri

area of Mysore. It has the unique structure of a three tier building, an ambience for a

perfect management school in creating Post Graduates who are ready to occupy

responsible managerial positions in the competitive corporate environment and in

rural areas too.

The students of JSSCMS are trained in the area of Human Resource, Finance and

Marketing to analyse the management challenges and bring out innovation in

Management Practices. The MBA course at JSS CMS trains the students from a

perspective to occupy positions of responsibility from day one. They carry with them

Experience and Knowledge of more than 350 JSS Institutions including the deeper

thinking of the faculty members on the one hand and rural reach out on the other

hand. Over last 15 years, JSSCMS has developed wonderful Management

Graduates who are in greater demand. It is felt that students learn more from the

practical experience hence the projects that they undertake connects them to the real

world.

Guided by this message, JSS Centre for Management Studies, the Post Graduate Management Education arm of JSSMVP has designed the 2 years fulltime MBA programme to provide not only the body of knowledge in contemporary management but also equipping their students with the tools for lifelong learning and performance for the good of the society. An atmosphere of probing and learning; one that encourages an inquisitive and enquiring community have been built into the learning process with a strong focus on research methods.

CURRICULUM DESIGN

The MBA programme consists of 4 semesters offering few core courses and electives in the 3rd and 4th Semesters. The MBA curriculum design and pedagogy emphasizes the development of students' skills and abilities, to identify, understand and help solve problems in managing organizations. Students are expected to achieve high standards of learning along with compassion towards society at large. Teaching methods include - lectures, case studies, seminars, group discussions, book reviews, business games, role plays, simulation exercises, structured and unstructured group work and field visits. The students also undertake several field-based projects to get better insights into the workplace reality.

Prof. J.S. Kiran BE, M.E.M, MPT (IIMB)Professor & Head

Prof. J.S. Kiran has a degree Mechanical Engineering, a Masters Degree in Engineering Management and is a Gold Medalist in MPT from IIM-Bangalore. He has 24 years of industrial and teaching experience in Marketing, strategy Management, Entrepreneurship Development, Management Information Systems and Industrial Engineering. He is actively involved in consulting activities.

Dr. P. Nagesh, BE, M.Tech(mgmt),Ph.DAssistant Professor

Dr.P.Nagesh has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master Degree in Engineering Management along with an extensive Industrial and teaching experience in the areas of Operations Management and Research and Industrial and Quality Management. He holds a PhD in Operations Management. A leading authority in his field, he has presented many award winning technical papers and authored various research papers for national and international journals. He has also reviewed various Text Books and International Journals.

Mr. Praveen Kumar, B.Sc, PGDMAssistant Professor

Praveen Kumar holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Science from SDMIMD Mysore and he has working experience in the consumer durables industry. He has been teaching in the area of marketing to post-graduate students of Management since 11 years. He is presently awaiting award of Doctoral Degree from MDI Gurgaon. He researches and consults in the area of Services, Relationship Marketing and Consumer Behavior.

Dr. Savitha G LakkolAssistant Professor

An MBA graduate from Mangalore University Prof. Savitha G. Lakkol specialized in Financial Management and has 12 years of teaching experience. Her doctoral work is in the area of Banking and Restructure. She has published papers in International and National Journals and presented papers in Symposiums.

Mrs. Anupama Sundar, B.Sc, MBAAssistant Professor

Smt. Anupama Sundar is an MBA degree holder from Kuvempu University, with a specialization in Marketing Management. She also holds a Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management and has 6 years of teaching experience and 5 years of industry experience.

Mr. Suresh Acharya, BSc, Dip in Tech & Applied Science, MBAAssistant Professor

An MBA with specialization in Marketing & Finance. Have 10 years of work experience in International Marketing & have traveled widely to different part of the world mainly to middle east- south East Asia, Australia & African regions. A brief stint in Finance in Asset valuation & new project Feasibility analysis also included in work experience.

Mr. Girish Baga, B.Sc, MBAAssistant Professor

Mr. Baga is an MBA from VTU Belgaum, specializing in marketing. Before pursuing a career in teaching he held managerial positions in Banking and Financial services sector. He has more than 10 years of post qualification experience.

Dr. Nalina K.B, B.E, MBA Assistant Professor

Mrs. Nalina K.B is MBA from VTU Belgaum and currently submitted her Ph.D thesis in the area of Stock Market Volatility- A case study of Indian Stock Market. She has both industry and teaching experience of more than 10 years. She has published papers in International journals and presented papers in many symposiums.

Mr. Sharath B.S., BBM, MBAAssistant Professor

Mr. Sharath is an MBA from VTU Belgaum, specializing in the area of Finance Management. He is widely experienced in Stock market trading, Commodities and derivatives trading. He has hands on experience on financial planning and investment advisory. He has post qualification experience of more than 12 years.

Ms. Nithya Gangadhar, BBM, MBALecturer

An MBA degree holder from VTU Belgaum with specialization in Human Resource Management. Ms. Nithya Gangadhar has 5 years of industry and teaching experience and has worked as an HR consultant and Investment Banker.

Mrs. Sindu Koppa, BBM, MBALecturer

Mrs. Sindu Koppa is MBA from University of Mysore, specializing in the area of Human Resource. She has 5 years of teaching experience. She has represented Karnataka State Hockey Team.

Mrs. Aruna Adarsh, BBM, MBALecturer

Mrs. Aruna Adarsh has an MBA degree from University if Mysore, with specialization in Human Resource Management. She has 7 years of teaching and wide exposure as a HR consultant.

Sridevi Kulenur holds an MBA, specialized in Human Resource Management form VTU Belgaum. She has 3 years of teaching experience .

Mrs. Anupama Shantharaju, M.Com, MBALecturer

She is a post graduate in commerce from Bangalore University and Management from VTU Belgaum. She has both industry and teaching experience. Her area of specialization is Finance and Accounting.

A retired professor of Economics and Principal of Mysore University evening college, Dr.Keshav has a cumulative teaching experience of over 41 years. He holds a Ph.D in Agriculture Trade in the area combining International Economics and Agricultural Economics. A well-respected mentor and tutor, he is a popular father-figure in the campus.

Dr. Bettina C.S, M.A., Ph.D (Economics)

Dr.Bettina has 20 years of project and more than 10 years of teaching experience. Her professional experience include Chief Economist on UNICEF and World Bank Projects, Consultant Economist to various Government bodies and NGOs. She has National and International more than 12 research publications to her credit.

Our team at the Industry – Institution interaction cell is not just concentrating on placement but is constantly endeavoring to ensure the students find the job suited to their aptitude. Over the years the alumni have been placed in respectable position of increasing responsibilities.

The contemporary 5000 sq mt wi fi building inaugurated by Nobel Laureate HH Dalai Lama has 11

spacious multimedia class rooms, 3 computer laboratories, 24 hours high speed internet

services, well stocked library with over 15000 books and access to over 1400 journals, well

furnished student seminar hall, cafeteria and an amphitheatre for student activities.

The campus sports complex offers a JSS-KSCA cricket ground, volleyball and tennis courts,

modern gymnasium. In addition, the shopping complex, canteens and two nationalized on the

campus provide other student amenities.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The evaluation system for the MBA has been designed to achieve the following:

Ø Prescribe and promote certain acceptable and uniform standards of comprehension.

Ø Encourage a healthy and constructive competition among the students.

JSSCMS follows a system of continuous evaluation. Throughout the semester, the student will be tested on his / her ability to understand concepts, learn techniques and apply them to problems in the real world. At each stage of the course, the student would be able to assess his / her performance and take measures for improvement. In each course, a student is thus awarded a letter grade only. The weighted average for all courses taken by a student in the term is called the Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) which is computed at the end of each semester. Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is the programme credit and is computed at the end of four semesters for the award of Degree.

MANNOVEX :

MANAGEMENT-INNOVATION FOR EXCELLENCE is a platform set by and for the students with an objective to give the management students an opportunity to showcase their talents and skills in the domain of management. MANNOVEX was launched in 2006 and has carved a niche for itself, wherein abilities are tested, potentialities emerge and relationships are built. The starting point of success will be from these stepping-stones, which will redefine the potentialities and also create an incredible sense of power and confidence. MANNOVEX has been the glitterati of all the events held at the institution. The event attracts many management institutions across the state, which is usually held for two days, focusing on various events in the areas of Marketing, Finance and Human Resources areas.

PLACEMENTS

JSSCMS has an exclusive Industry Institute Cell for MBA students who are taken

through an exclusive 'Campus to Corporate' programme. This cell strives towards

campus recruitment and preplacement training. Students are generally placed on

completion of their 3rd semester. The Industry Institute Cell organizes Job Fair,

Mock Interviews, Personality Development Courses, Soft Skill Training, Group

Discussions & Seminars. The Cell is responsible for establishing effective contacts

with various organizations with an objective to assist the students in securing jobs

and arranging interviews. The Cell will also facilitate the selection process of

students with potential employers; It caters to the needs of the students as well as

the B -School authorities and acts as a bridge between the employer and the

employee. Excellent track record in getting summer internships and job placements

in Manufacturing, Retail, Financial Services, I.T, and FMCG sectors.

Placement Center: A fully furnished student Placement Center has been established

to facilitate prospective employers to interact with students for both projects & job
