Annual Derasar Maintenance Fund:

As all of you are already aware, and many of you committed to for many years towards JSNE sustaining

member donation of $350 on an annual basis which has been a big help in taking care of our expenses

related to maintenance of our Derasar e.g. electricity bill, heating bill, Derasar cleaning, snow removal, any &

all repairs etc. Since we have our different memberships well defined now, per EC; we are going to rename

this fund to "Annual Derasar Maintenance Fund" with the same amount of $350/- per year. The name better

fits the purpose of this fund.

We hope the members who were contributing $350 on an annual basis towards sustaining a/c will continue to

contribute towards the newly named fund. We also would like to encourage more and more members to join

the "Annual Derasar Maintenance Fund".

This is less than one dollar a day commitment for your derasar. You can pay $350 at once or sign up for

automatic monthly installment of $30/month; on our website. JSNE volunteers will personally contact you

during Paryusan Parv for your commitment. Please make a commitment to keep up and maintain the

derasar in the best condition.

Please contact any EC member if you would like to sponsor any of the above events or

JSNE Pathshala:

Jai Jinendra and Pranam. Hope you all had a great summer and are ready with renewed energy and enthusiasm to learn and practice Jainism at Pathshala.

JSNE Pathshala is now 11 years old and entering in the 12th year. Congratulations and special thanks to all Pathshala students/families, teachers, and JSNE Executive Committee for this spiritual journey. During the past year; we once again successfully accomplished many tasks on hand while we continued to add new dimensions to make Pathshala a better place for students, parents and teachers. Most importantly, support from the parents, community, hard work of staff and the spirit of our students made this happen.

Pathshala activities – In addition to learning Jain Philosophy, rituals, sutras and stutis, Pathshala students

enthusiastically participated in the following activities this past year –

Jain Art Workshop – A beautiful learning event took place at JSNE. Art workshops for kids (and parents) were organized on May 3rd and June 7th. The event was open to entire JSNE community and both Adults and children were invited to participate. More than 40 students/adults participated enthusiastically in making various kinds of arts, some of which will be displayed at the temple.

There were three main arts/crafts activities this time. (1) Making Torans for windows in the Rang Mandap, (2) Making Gahulis and Sathiyos of different shapes, and (3) Making a collective mosaic art piece.

This event was led by our Pathshala teacher Nimisha Asthagiri and the JSNE Art Workshop Committee, including the following workshop leaders: Anuja Shah, Aruna Masi, Dhvani Doshi, Pauravi Teabo, Shilpi Bothra, Surbhi Pokharna and Yesha Mehta. We take this opportunity to acknowledge and recognize the efforts of all our Pathshala students, parents and volunteers.

Please contact us if you are interested in organizing, leading, or helping with another such event in the future.

Test - On June 14th pathshala, students took written and oral exams on what they learned during the year. Graduation Ceremony – The seven graduating students-‘Esha Shah ’, ‘Elisha Shah’, ‘Ria Savla’ ‘Vishruti Shah’,

“Stuti Shah’ ‘Krutak Shah’ and ‘Divyansh Shah’ were recognized and honored with a Certificate. They briefly shared their reflections on Pathshala – why it is important to attend pathshala, what they learned at pathshala over the years which will last forever with them. We wish them all the best.

End-of-year outing – On the last day of Pathshala on June 14th, students, along with parents/teachers, went to

the Lazercraze place in Woburn, MA. 50+ students and parents/teachers gathered to have fun and everyone had a good time.

On-line Registration – Pathshala registration form is available under Pathshala section. One form per family is

required.
