dependencies and utilization. This involved liaison with client staff, external suppliers, disposal

partners plus internal Project and Service Managers.

End user experience of CA USD (service desk), BMC Atrium and HP Asset Manager with end users

April - July 2012 Imperial College London Contract via Nine #

Configuration/CMDB Consultant (Technical Operations & IT

    Services):

Defined the model for ServiceNow CMDB module. This included the definition of configuration

items (CIs) and their relationships from Business Service & (400) IT Services down to

physical/virtual infrastructure. Brian was also the resource for CI creation and relationship mapping.

After digesting the Service Catalogue and numerous design/architecture documents, Brian presented

his CMDB CI updates to the satisfaction of all stakeholders. He created synergies between the

different needs of technical IT (complex) and Service Desk staff/Service Managers (simple).

Created a CMDB user guide and a handbook that explained CI definitions, relationships, work flows

    and attributes.

Established an agreed level of CI granularity to meet Change, Problem, IT Service and Business

    requirements with CMDB maintenance resource in mind. Brian worked with Availability, Data Centerand Change Managers to ensure the CMDB could take advantage of daily status/CI import feeds for;

hundreds of Oracle (via OEM) and MSQL (via Quest Foglight) databases/instances and thousands ofinfrastructure items (via in-house hardware database).

After Brian's input to UAT & performance testing, feeds for the ServiceNow development team, end-

user training and rigorous product SME content audits, the ServiceNow CMDB module went live atthe end of July 2012.

asset register (Peregrine (Hp) Asset Center 4.4) and CMDB (Hp Service Manager 7) structure .

Gap analysis, requirements, testing and end-user administration of in-house Storage team low-level

CI and license database. This fed into Brian's consultation for subsequent SACM 'ServiceNow'CImodeling, architecture/requirement definitions.

Auditing on-site storage engineer/data center CI status/attribute updates and passing to SACM for

Asset Register/CMDB input and subsequent scorecard reporting.

Remediation of SACM process breaches for site audited (scanned/manual) storage CIs to maintain

the integrity of the central asset register and CMDB - Within pre-defined SLA time frames. Also

providing input to SACM audit improvements.

Direct SM7 Service to CI mapping input and analysis, whilst understanding Storage Engineer and

    owning Service Manager viewpoints.

Storage software license management with hardware maintenance monitoring, auditing and reporting

Created and implemented faulty disk tracking and auditing procedures from (incident led) on-site

vendor disk swap outs, secure faulty disk temporary storage to site collection and

    destruction/certification.

tool proposals for two separate projects. He also provided consultancy for a cross Hp/MoJ accountLive Service tooling pilot (Hp-uCMDB, Sitescope & BAC), after conducting BMC Atrium's CMDBevaluations.

Demanded Brians usual measurable process, procedure creation and internal/external client

    management skills.

Involved merging several sources of configuration item data into a single DSL/Document Library and

CMDB. This included overseeing the development, testing and implementation of an interim SQL

server CMDB, Borland StarTeam DSL and client assistance in the process modeling of SerenaDimensions 2009 R10.

Rigorous requirement analysis (.xls & Serena Business Mashups (SBM 2008)), HPQC (test case

repository and defects that drive new software releases) and process/tooling implementation - that

demanded adherence to tight security restrictions.

Input to Release Management Plans became essential due to aggressive cost and time constraints.

Team leadership of a Configuration Analyst and Document Controller and created restricted CI

storage (PGP encryption) and restricted media destruction procedures.

Attended Test Readiness, Operational Readiness Reviews (project to service handover milestone) and

part of Release Management responsibilities. Such documentation packs included analysis/reporting

of the defects/changes/incidents that were delivered and deployed through the 'path to live'environments.

Release milestone gates were underpinned by direct/indirect duties such as environment build

monitoring (using CMDB CI and change object process flow/analysis) as well as the quality

assurance of ; Software Delivery into the DSL, environment content build targets/release notes andimpact assessment of Implementation reports plus Service and Business Change Management

    records.

Provided key input and practical assistance into Dimensions to Borland Star Team migration
