Hello, I’m the new kid on the block;

They decided to call me Daisy.

Everyone has a purpose here --

Mine is to drive people crazy.

My back was broken accidentally,

So I wasn’t wanted anymore.

“You’re not a perfect specimen,” they said,

“Let us show you out the door.”

I bounce around like a pogo stick

To get wherever I want to go --

A mile a minute, that’s my speed;

My track time’s anything but slow!

My wheels will be here any day,

And can’t come soon enough.

I’ll zoom and zip from here to there;

And really strut my stuff!

Hello, my name is Hope,

I’m a two-month Shepherd puppy.

My body is much bigger now;

I once was the size of a guppy. Born with useless back legs,

I was a breeder baby.

Without a rescue, I was doomed—

No ifs, ands, buts, or maybe!

I’m black and tan with velvety fur,

So silky to the touch.

Please kiss and pet me perpetually,

If that’s not asking too much.

Just give me a map and a compass;

I’ll race from Canada to Siam.

I’ll fly as fast as Jet Blue does!

You’ll see how speedy I am!

The food is great, my bed is clean,

And I get lots of rubs on my belly.

Guess who’s special and loves me most?

She’s my private nanny – Kelly!

Kelly has a real baby daughter;

Her name is Hope as well.

We don’t know who loves

each other more;

It’s really hard to tell.

And you know all about Daisy now --

She’s my best canine friend!

Someday, we’ll have a wheelchair race!

Happy times will never end!

We realize times are hard for many, and Journey’s End is no exception. Our expenses are

high and ongoing, and the sanctuary has been especially struggling in recent months; in

addition, this is the time of year when donations begin to taper off, which continues

throughout the summer. While we dream of someday becoming financially secure, that is

not a dream that has been realized.

But Journey’s End also began as a dream, and your generous support enabled the sanctuary

to grow from a dream into reality. As a result, you have transformed and saved the lives of

thousands of animals in desperate need. You are the only reason Journey’s End has been

able to remain open all these years. Our unique mission is to provide safe haven in a loving

home environment for unadoptable animals, and this is possible only through your

Our life-saving work continues! Here are some of our new residents who desperately needed a home:

Gabriel is a younger

dog who was found as

a hungry stray with

bloody paws and skin

sores. We tried sending

him to a foster family,

but he was too high-

energy for them, and

they returned him to us. Thelma and Louise are a

bonded pair who were

abandoned.

Precious is a

sweet older cat

whose owner had

some health issues

and could no

longer care for

her.

Pocahontas (AKA

Porkahontas) was

found in the woods

where she had

apparently been

abandoned.

Memorial Stones

We are continuing to gather names to inscribe on the memorial

stones that will be placed in the walkway to the Memorial

Garden. Soon we will be doing the inscriptions and laying the

stones in place. Each stone is approximately 8” x 12” and will

have space for a short inscription of one animal’s name, or a

person or persons’ name, and optionally a year. (Examples:

“Maggie 2014”, “Bill and Mary 2016”, “The Donaldsons”) To

order, just send a check with a note including your desired

inscription, or use PayPal to pay online and specify the

inscription in the “Write a note” field.
