Our employees are key
Large scale technology is part of our solution
Effluent and waste residues at our Fawdon factory go to our on-site anaerobic digestion • No transport • Energy back to the factory • Solids used as soil improver
Coffee grounds at our Tutbury Factory go to our onsite energy recovery combustion plant Significant reduction in water and energy usage
Energy Target Setting
Completed ETS studies at all UK manufacturing sites
More than £5,000k cost saving identified
Nearly 30,000 tCO2 saving identified
More than 250 smaller projects identified
What about waste that is fit for consumption..
• In 2006 Nestlé seconded a senior logistics expert to
FareShare to improve their redistribution management
systems
• In 2014, Nestlé donated 194 tonnes of fit-for-consumption
food to FareShare, contributing towards 461,900 meals.
• Since the beginning of the partnership with FareShare,
Nestlé has provided FareShare over 2,350 tonnes of fit-
for-consumption food – over 5m meals’ worth of food that
would otherwise have gone to waste.
A collaborative journey
with FareShare
