GOLDMINE• Rosen began his athletic career at an

early age, dominating the tennis cir-cuit from the time he was six-years-old. By that time, he was competing nationally and working with private instructors. At the age of 12, he was nationally ranked and peaked as the number two player in Southern Cali-fornia in the 12-and-under age brack-et. When he entered middle school, however, Rosen’s sights switched to the football field, and decided to stop playing tennis in order to develop his skills as a quarterback. Despite trad-ing in his racket for a football, Rosen’s early training would benefit him later on. “In tennis, there aren’t four 280-pounders coming at you and you don’t have to throw the ball on target down the field,” former UCLA coach Jim Mora said, “but in terms of lateral movement, be-ing able to move up and back in the pocket, staying square with a wide base, I think all those things absolutely translate.”

• In February of 2019, Rosen joined the nonprofit organization 4ocean and 600 volunteers in a community cleanup of Daytona Beach. Having grown up by the water, Rosen uses his platform to raise awareness of the growing pollution issues surrounding the nation’s beaches. During the 2018 season, he wore upcycled plas-tic cleats made from recovered ocean plastic to bring awareness to the growing problem of marine debris.

ROSEN’S GOLDEN NUGGETS• Comes from an athletic family as mother, Elizabeth, was cap-

tain of the lacrosse team and also played field hockey at Princ-eton. Older sister, Beatrice, was a two-time NCAA DIII National Team Tennis Champion at Emory University. Younger sister, Lydia, is currently a member of the rowing team at Princeton. At one point, Rosen’s parents were also national gold medalists in ice dancing in the 1970s.
