Nuestro encuentro con el Pintor Jose Luis Viejo Palacios fue propiciado por el prestigioso Critico de Arte Barcelones nuestro gran amigo Don Joan Lluis Montane y fue en ocasion de nuestro Primer Encuentro Grupo21Plus en Madrid en 2006. De personalidad vehemente Viejo Palacios hizo enchufe electro-artistico de inmediato con Grupo 21 Plus y su programa Global de un Arte por la Paz.

En su estudio situado a pocos kilometros del Aeropuerto de Barajas en Madrid, Viejo Palacios convoca a todas las Musas para que coloreen sus trabajos y su diario vivir. Una de sus favoritas es la Cromatica Materica con la cual nos ofrece un trabajo artistico destellante, tocable, aguijoneante. Sus metaforas visuales se meten en nuestros ojos a bailar sin invitarles y se toman el sol de Castilla entre dulces vinos y brillantes aceitunas. A Viejo Palacios no le interesa la 'Pintura' mas parece interesarle lo que de Arte rescate despues de cada juego brutal en el que se juega la vida a por todas y de una vez.

Viejo Palacios le dijo Si a la Pasion como un desgarrado Castellano en quien el Epos es una soledad de cien mil manosy otros tantos corazones incansables en su sed de Am-Arte Amar.

Dear Fellows:

Our encounter with the Painter Jose Luis Viejo Palacios was caused by the prestigious Barcelonan Art Critic and our great friend Don Joan Lluis Montane in occasion of our First Group21Plus Encounter in Madrid in 2006. Of a vehement personality Viejo Palacios made a kind of immediate electro-artistic connection with Group21Plus and its Global Program of an Art for Peace.

In his studio located just a few kilometres from the Airport of Barajas in Madrid, Viejo Palacios summons to all the Muses so that they color his artworks as well his daily life. One of his favorite Muses is the Chromatic-Materica with which he offers a sparkling artistic work to us, touchable and stinging. His visual metaphors dance in our eyes without invitation, take the sunshine from Castilla among sweet wines and brilliant olives. Viejo Palacios has no interest in 'Painting', and somehow it seems of interest to him what of Art he rescues after each brutal game in which he always gambles his life.

Viejo Palacios has said to himself a Yes to Passion as a tearing Castilian in whom the 'Epos' is a solitude of a hundred thousand hands, and much more untiring hearts in his thirst for Love-Art Love.

Pintor. Formacion Autodidacta. Madrid, España, (1957).

Reside en Francia y Pais Vasco entre los años 1965 y 1973 donde se familiariza con el dibujo y la pintura, e inicia una etapa de investigación y aprendizaje.

A su regreso a España, en 1974, comienza de forma autodidacta su carrera artística. Entre los años 1979 y 1988, desarrolla una intensa actividad como paisajista, etapa que el artista combina simultáneamente con la investigación de nuevas posibilidades pictóricas que expresan una pintura más personal y de más íntima significación y apertura. Explorador de la técnica de la abstracción y del comportamiento gestual de los cuerpos en el espacio, su pintura frecuenta armonías, metamorfosis y atmósferas que aportan, a modo de paisajes interiores, una lectura de serenidad e inmaterialidad, transmitida a través de una estética de lenguaje táctil.

Entre los años 1972 y 1985, realiza sus primeras exposiciones individuales, y con carácter permanente, en el aeropuerto de Madrid Barajas; durante las décadas de los ochenta y noventa, expone en Las Palmas, Jerez y Cádiz, entre otras ciudades españolas.

Tras una primera exposición individual en Nueva York (Galería Hand Kraft, 1990) y con motivo del V Centenario del Descubrimiento de América, en 1991, y hasta octubre de 1992 expone con otros artistas en el Spanish Institute, Presentación Marble And Granite Gallery, tras esta exposición, participa en nuevas individuales en esta ciudad. Desde entonces y hasta la fecha, Viejo Palacios no ha parado de exponer en todo el mundo. Con Grupo 21 Plus exhibio en Tlaxcala-Mexico, 2006.

Painter. Self-taught. Madrid, Spain (1957). Resides in France and Basque Country from 1965 to 1973, there he becomes familiar with drawing and painting initiating a stage of research, investigation and learning. At his return to Spain, in 1974, his artistic training begins in a self-taught form. From 1979 to 1988, he develops an intense activity as a landscaper, stage that the artist combines simultaneously with the investigation of new pictorial possibilities, a way to express a much more personal painting languageof more intimate meaning and opening. Explorer of the technique of abstraction and the sign behavior of bodies on space, his painting frequents harmonies, metamorphosis and atmospheres that contribute, as a kind of inner landscapes, to a reading of serenity transmitted through an aesthetic of tactile language.

From 1972 to 1985, he had his first individual exhibitions, and with permanent character, at the Airport of Madrid Barajas. Later on he exhibited in Las Palmas, Jerez and Cadiz among others Spanish cities.

Afterhis first individual exhibition in New York's Hand Kraft Art Gallery, 1990, and on the occasion of the V Centennial of the Discovery of America, in 1991, and until October of 1992 he exhibited with other artists at the N.Y. Spanish Institute as well at the Marble and Granite Gallery.

He has not stopped to exhibit anywhere in the world. Lately with Group 21 Plus in Tlaxcala, Mexico, 2006.

FREEDOM

I have suffered for the freedom of art

day to day and hour to hour

in being like a thirsty drinker of words of colors

of colors with rights

and of utopian thoughts that become reality.

And I have fought for freedom

when fleeing from ignorance, the own one, the other people's one

knowing that the power of power and the glory

both are shortcuts that badly plagiarize the truth.
