The “zoeira” never ends By Raquel Mastrodi

Do you know what happened last Friday night? We do! The Regional Party was held at Fabrício’s place, our crisis director, and everyone had a good time with their friends and new acquaintances. There was traditional food such as cotton candy and popcorn and a nice open bar.

USP’s delegates opened the talent show dancing to the sound of “Eu sou a diva que você quer copiar” by Valesca Popozuda and shook up the place. They were followed by an acoustic cover of Toxic performed by Guilherme Mattos and Gabriela Fontanari. The UFRGS’s delegation also had their moment on the spotlight and got the audience to dance along with them to the sound of “Amor de chocolate” and they also danced “arrocha”. Guests also had a moment to show off all their talents by rapping and playing guitar.

to another. By the end of the session, it was released a report from Al Jazeera stating that the South Sudan president had suffered an attack from the Janjaweeds.

SLDBy Leonardo FariaAfter the first dialogue, focused basically on the debate between China and Japan, two working papers were written and discussed. The second one, written by the Chinese Defense Minister, presented curious aspects; he exposed, in a rough and tough way, all his diplomatic policy to the other Ministers. The most curious feature was the supporters of this working paper: Chile, Korea and UK agreed with all measures!

USSOCOMBy Carla BonattiDuring the session, the debate was not limited to the theory: the members were focused on an action plan to support Syria in its civil war and to defend American interests in the region. They are blending their forces, abilities and knowledge to reach the excellence in the covert operation. Consequently, the international community is not aware of this strategic plan.

ILOBy Raquel MastrodiLast afternoon, the debate was rather calm and being led by Mexico and Japan delegates. The group resumed its work on the first draft concerning Topic A focusing on short-term resolutions, such as the reassurance of work rights and social security. The question that remains is how are they going to implement what has been discussed considering the challenges imposed by the 21st century.

PSC-AUBy Tereza ChagasThe debate has been concentrated between Sudan and South Sudan delegations, which demonstrated very different conceptions about the conflict. The delegates developed an agenda that includes the political conflict, the security of population and the AU role as a mediator. The discussion has also involved the UNAMID mission of relocating refugees: delegates from South Sudan and Ruanda positioned themselves against it, justifying that this measure only takes problems from an area

“From one student to another”By Raquel Mastrodi and Carla Bonetti

“FAMUN was idealized by students themselves”, recalls Alessandro Ortuso, coordinator of the International Re-lations course, who cannot stress enough the enormous commitment of the students in the development of a si-mulation of such importance for their academic training. Professor Ortuso also points out that professors and principals support the initiative. The entire institution is somehow involved with FAMUN, whether helping with the coordination of activities and essays’ writing, or pro-viding logistical and technical support with the cleaning and the preparation of the necessary physical structure.
