Jordan interviewed Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, the dynamic A-List writing team, at Raleigh Studios Hollywood in May 2009. Their long list of credits include “3:10 to Yuma,” “Wanted,” and the upcoming “Beverly Hills Cop IV.”

At the 2003 Screenwriting Expo, Jordan interviewed television writer-producers Mark Goffman (The West Wing), Marc Zicree (Sliders), Ellen Sandler (Everybody Loves Raymond), and Sunil Nayar (CSI: Miami). The panelists were extremely informative.

Jordan interviewed Tom Schulman, Oscar-winning screenwriter of "Dead Poets Society" at Raleigh Studios Hollywood in February 2009. His writing credits include “What About Bob?” and “Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.” He also produced “Me, Myself & Irene” and “Indecent Proposal.”

Jordan interviewed writer-director Nicholas Meyer at Screenwriting Expo. His credits include “Eddy Deco,” “Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan,” “Time After Time,” “Sommersby,” and “The Human Stain.”

Jordan interviewed Paul Guay (co-writer of "Liar, Liar") and his new writing partner Scott Brion. Paul’s credits include “The Little Rascals,” and “Heartbreakers.” “Rory Storm and The Hurricanes” is in development.

For James Jordan’s significant service to the Scriptwriters Network over a period of many years, the organization awarded him lifetime membership. He continues to provide guest speakers and moderates.

Jordan interviewed Oscar-winning writer-director Steven Zaillian at a special screening celebrating the 10th anniversary of “Searching for Bobby Fischer.” The sold-out event was part of the “Story to Glory” film series, co-produced by James Jordan.

Attendees at this amazing event received great insights into screenwriting and filmmaking from one of Hollywood’s most talented artists. Mr. Zaillian balances his passion for storytelling with a highly disciplined approach to directing.

Jordan also interviewed Emmy-nominated actor Joe Mantegna at the “Story to Glory” film series event celebrating the 10th Anniversary of “Searching for Bobby Fischer.” The film series was co-produced by James Jordan.

Mr. Mantegna educated the audience how an actor evaluates material and how he approached the meaty role of the father of a chess prodigy. Aspiring writers and actors to seasoned veterans appreciated the in-depth discussion.

Jordan moderated the Television Writers Panel at the 2004 Screenwriting Expo. The engaging panel featured J. Larry Carroll (Star Trek: TNG, Tekwar, Stargate SG-1), Jonathan Robert Kaplan (JAG and NYPD Blue), Jan Oxenberg (Cold Case, Chicago Hope), and Peter Mehlman (Seinfeld).

It was wonderful interviewing Peter Mehlman, writer of many classic episodes of SEINFELD, including "The Smelly Car", "The Yada Yada", "The Shower Head", and "The Sponge." Peter is brilliant and hilarious. Jordan will interview this comedic genius again as part of an all-comedy panel.

Jordan conceived and coordinated the “Road to the Oscar®” Panel at 2003 Screenwriting Expo with writers David S. Ward (winner for "The Sting"), Jeff Arch (nominee for "Sleepless in Seattle"), Tom Rickman (nominee for “Coal Miner’s Daughter”), and Nicholas Meyer (nominee for “The Seven-Per-Cent Solution”). Author Linda Seger moderated the incredible panel.

Charles Edward Pogue interviewed Oscar-winning writer Marc Norman (for “Shakespeare in Love”) at the "Story to Glory" film series, co-produced by James Jordan. Mr. Pogue’s credits include “The Fly,” “D.O.A.” and “DragonHeart.”

Richard Stayton, editor of Written By, interviewed Oscar-winning writer Bruce Joel Rubin at the "Story to Glory" film series, co-produced by James Jordan. Mr. Rubin’s credits include “Ghost,” “Jacob’s Ladder,” “My Life,” and “Deep Impact.”

James Jordan has worked frequently with Gary Shusett, founder of Sherwook Oaks College in Hollywood, for the last several years as moderator and consultant for various television and film class programs.

Here we are with Jay Leno on the TONIGHT SHOW set. We then had a private 2-hour dinner with Mr. Leno’s top staff writers. Thanks Gary for arranging this! It’s astonishing how much one can learn from observing on a television production set.

Jordan was invited by producers to observe live taping and/or filming of GIDEON’S CROSSING, JUST SHOOT ME, THE KING OF QUEENS, FRIENDS, LESS THAN PERFECT, and THE WILLIAM SHATNER ROAST. Jordan has also interviewed many TV showrunners and staff.

January 29, 2010, Sherwood Oaks College held its second “Honesty Panel” of the day by Sony Studios, providing unprecedented candid feedback on loglines to the screenwriters in attendance. Panelists included, left to right, Bob Kosberg (not shown), producer Suzanne Lyons, development exec Edward C. Wang, producer Susan Johnston, and moderator James Jordan.

July 17, 2010, James Jordan appeared on another “Honesty Panel” at CBS Studio Center to give honest blunt feedback on writers’ loglines in a unique seminar. Other panelists included (left to right) Mark Travis, Suzanne Lyons, Mark Kratter, Daniel Manus, and Moderator Gary Shusett.

During this “Honesty Panel,” Mark Kratter discussed the low box office from “fetish” movies such as one about a healthy guy who amputates himself. Jordan commented “It didn’t have legs!” which brought the house down. From beginning to end, the extremely knowledgeable panel shared valuable information with the appreciative audience of aspiring writers.
