DAY 2 TUESDAY 18 MAY Arrive Amman Mt Nebo Madaba Petra We arrive early morning to Dubai and will all transfer onto the connecting Emirates flight EK901 departing Dubai at 0730hrs with an arrival into Amman at 0950hrs Enroute to Petra we will visit Mt Nebo from where Moses viewed the Promised Land and is buried Also visit Madaba to view the ancient mosaic of Jerusalem (including talk at information centre) and enjoy lunch here Continue onto Petra via the Desert Highway Dinner and overnight in Petra (D)

DAY 3 WEDNESDAY 19 MAY Petra Enjoy a full day to explore ldquothe rose - red cityrdquo of Petra which from 300 BC was inhabited by Nabateans Take a walk through the dramatic ldquociqrdquo or canyon We see the Treasury carved in the pink stone and continue past the Roman Theatre the Corinthian Tomb and Palace Tomb to the Roman road If time permits climb up to the Monastery We enjoy lunch inside Petra Later we transfer to Amman for dinner and overnight (BD)

DAY 4 THURSDAY 20 MAY Allenby Jordan River Jericho Bet Shean We check out this morning and proceed to the Allenby Bridge border crossing point to Israel After border formalities we visit the Jordan River Baptismal site and then continue to Jericho one of the oldest cities in the world and see the excavations there We also view the Mt of Temptation Drive up through the Jordan Valley to visit Bet Shean one of the cities of the Decapolis Continue to the Galilee to our hotel for dinner and overnight (BD)

DAY 5 FRIDAY 21 MAY Sea of Galilee Mt of Beatitudes Tabgha Capernaum After breakfast we visit the ancient fishing boat dating from the 1st Century that was found in the seabed at Nof Ginosar Kibbutz We then enjoy a morning boat ride across the Sea of Galilee We drive up the Mt of Beatitudes we visit the beautiful church where the Sermon on the Mount is remembered Visit the Church of Tabgha with its famous mosaic of the Loaves and Fishes and the Church of Primacy (Mensa Christi) where Jesus said to Peter ldquoThou art the rockrdquo From there we continue onto Capernaum to see the synagogue and Peterrsquos house centre of Jesus preaching ministry We enjoy a St Peterrsquos fish lunch at a local restaurant before we have some time for shopping Dinner and overnight at the Sea of Galilee (BD)

DAY 6 SATURDAY 22 MAY Banias Dan Hazor Korazim Head up the Golan Heights to the Springs of Banias also known as Caesarea Philippi where Peter said ldquoThou are Christrdquo Continue to Tel Dan where Abraham went to rescue his nephew Lot Returning towards the Sea of Galilee we will visit Hazor an Israelite city destroyed in a rebellion against the Assyrians If time we will visit Korazim one of the villages condemned by Jesus for not changing itrsquos ways Meet back at the hotel for dinner and overnight in Tiberias (BD)

DAY 7 SUNDAY 23 MAY Nazareth Village Nazareth Caesarea Jerusalem After breakfast and check out from the hotel we start with a visit to Nazareth Village the recreated 1st Century settlement before continuing to Nazareth and see the Church of the Annunciation and St Josephrsquos Church Continue to Caesarea once the capital of the Roman province and see the aqueduct theatre Herodrsquos Palace and the harbour from which St Paul was taken to Rome We then drive to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight (BD)

DAY 8 MONDAY 24 MAY Mt of Olives Bethlehem Israel Museum Yad Vashem This morning we start at the Mt of Olives to visit the Place of Ascension commemorating Jesusrsquo Ascension and the Pater Noster Church We will also view the Jewish Cemetery We then follow the Palm Sunday Road stopping at Dominus Flevit where Jesus wept over Jerusalem At the foot of the hill we arrive at the Garden of Gethsemane with its ancient olive trees and the Church of All Nations We drive to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity where Jesus was born In the afternoon we will visit the Shrine of the Book at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem where the Dead Sea Scrolls are kept We will also see here the Model of Jerusalem at the time of Jesus and the Second Temple Our last stop will be a visit to the Holocaust Memorial Yad Vashem Dinner and overnight at our hotel (BD)

DAY 9 TUESDAY 25 MAY City of David Davidson Centre Mt Zion Upper Room Garden Tomb Today we visit the City of David including a tour of Warrenrsquos Shaft and Hezekiahrsquos Tunnel We also visit the Davidson Museum and explore the Southern Wall excavations At Mt Zion we visit the Upper Room and the Church known as St Peter in Gallicantu where Peter denied Christ See also Caiphasrsquo House where Jesus was held This afternoon we will visit the Garden Tomb before returning to our hotel for dinner and overnight (BD)

DAY 10 WEDNESDAY 26 MAY Masada Ein Gedi Qumran Dead Sea We start with a drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to the fortress mountain called Masada the stronghold of Jewish resistance to the Romans in the revolt of 75 AD Ascend by cable car to see the remains of Herodrsquos Palace and many other archaeological excavations which were found there Visit Ein Gedi where David fled to hide from King Saul for an overview of the waterfall Continue to Qumran to visit the remains of the Essene enclave and see the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were hidden and discovered After lunch we will have time for a float in the Dead Sea and its salty waters If time and conditions prevail on our way back we may have the opportunity for a quick stop at the Monastery of St Georgersquos to view the old road from Jerusalem to Jericho where David wrote Psalm23 ldquoThe valley of the shadow of deathrdquo Return to our hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight (BD)

DAY 11 THURSDAY 27 MAY Western Wall Old City Holy Sepulchre Sound amp Light Show Enter through the Dung Gate to visit the Western Wall view the Al-Aksa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock which is the same rock that Abraham was going to sacrifice his son We will have a fascinating tour of the Western Wall Tunnels see the Pool of Bethesda where the angel ruffled the water and St Annersquos Church the traditional birthplace of Jesusrsquo mother We walk through the Old City of Jerusalem passing the Stations of the Cross ending with a visit to the Church of The Holy Sepulchre Late this afternoon we will have some free time in the Old City After dinner at our hotel we will enjoy the Sound and Light Show at the David Citadel Return to hotel for overnight (BD)

DAY 12 FRIDAY 28 MAY Allenby Depart Amman After breakfast we check out of our hotel and transfer to the Allenby Bridge to cross back into Jordan After border formalities we will have lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to Amman International Airport to check in for our Emirates flight EK904 departing for Dubai at 1800hrs We arrive into Dubai at 2200hrs and connect to our Emirates flights home to Australia (B)
