Joker to the Thief Demo Lyrics
Butterflies Verse 1: Well every morning you come knocking at my door
Just wearing the same clothes and the same smile You was wearing the night before
'Cause baby now I just don't know why 'Cause baby now you just can't deny
'Cause baby now why do you even try to say That his lovin' is better than mine
Chorus 1:
You got them butterflies Can't disguise how badly you want me
You got them butterflies You just can't resist all this You got them butterflies
Can't disguise how badly you want me You got them butterflies X2 (butterflies, oh no)
Verse 2: So please, please, please
Baby please can't we come to a compromise Looks like we can't, but you know that I can sympathize
'Cause I believe in butterflies And I believe in everything but your eyes 'Cause I've given them a thousand tries
But they just keep telling me lies
Chorus 2 (same as chorus 1)
Breakdown: Oh you got them (repeating)
Chorus 3: You got them butterflies Can't disguise how badly you want me (how badly you want me)
You got them butterflies You just can't resist all this (oh you can't resist it)
You got them butterflies (I believe in butterflies, yeah) Can't disguise how badly you want me (I believe in, I believe in) You got them butterflies X2 (butterflies, oh, you can't resist it)
Outro: You got them butterflies
Knock You Down Verse 1: We took the long road
In the dead of night There was no adventure
No end in sight You look me in my eyes Saying, "Darling, please" But baby, nothings hot When it's on its knees
Chorus 1: Hey thanks for asking
You're just too caught up And you think I give a damn
But you're out of luck And you hope I'll change my ways
Don't hold your breath 'Cause in the end I'll always
Knock you down
Verse 2: We had the passion Yeah, we had it right
But you had no backbone No bark or bite
I danced around the pain Found a way to pull on through
But you couldn't take it Didn't know what to do
Chorus 2 (same as chorus 1)
Chorus 3 (same as chorus 1)

Skeletons Verse 1: Silent dark and fleeting Still hiding skeletons You've built avoiding trust Like clouds on a windy night But that don't mean that you gotta be alone What more do I have to give you Just a memory in my dreams My love should be enough Just a moment in my life Verse 2: But even beside a fire But you keep holding on And your pockets full of gold You haven't let go yet Chorus 1: Want to look into a mirror Even when you're here in my arms But please just give me something See a different face I can save you from the cold I'll take what I can get Always talking about regrets But your past can be erased Chorus 2 (same as chorus 1) Chorus 3 (same as chorus 1) I know there's more to you I can feel it in my bones Bridge: How do I break the walls
