At this very moment, our own joint press conferences are taking place in both New York and Los Angeles. Also at this moment, in Washington DC, the 1270-strong Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth arpublicizing alarm over the official reports of the destruction of the three World Trade Center high-rises, anare demanding of Congress a new investigation.

Statement:

Statement to AA911Truth:As an artist and citizen growing up in America I came to see that the truth aboutU.S. policies, both foreign and domestic, was not always easy to find. Without truth and transparency, it isimpossible to achieve the democracy we aspire to be. A truly free and democratic country must have accessto the truth, or it cannot make informed choices.

The events of 9/11 informed many choices for America, with arguably some of the most negative, hurtfuand disastrous consequences. It is now a well-accepted fact that the original 9/11 Commission was 'set up tofail' and did not get the full picture of 9/11, and instead perpetuated many myths.

The fact that most people don't know there was a building called WTC 7 that was completely demolishehours after the Twin Towers, without ever being hit by a plane is an example of how ill-informed we are

Qualified researchers from nearly every profession of the private sector have called the government's officiastory into question and can show ample evidence to contradict almost every facet of the 9/11 story shown tous through the media. 9/11 was not an accidental lapse of security nor a surprise to the highest levels of U.S.and world governments. This can be shown and proved.

My partners and I made The Reflecting Pool, the first investigative drama about 9/11, to bring some of thesdiscrepancies to a wider public with the hope of inspiring others to ask more questions and demand honestanswers about these history-altering events. As an artist it is my responsibility to seek the truth in my art, as acitizen it is my responsibility to demand truth from my government, if I want my children to have hope of livin a true democracy.

I grew up the son of veteran actor Robert Culp, an artist who put his ideals on the line championing civrights in the 1960s. 9/11 Truth is a civil rights issue in the extreme, and one that I am willing to take on for mown conscience and the good of our country. We are all still suffering the effects of 9/11, economically,militarily, legally, culturally, not forgetting the victims, the sick and dying, and the families who lost lovones, whose pain will last a lifetime.

I join with other actors and artists in support of a new independent investigation of the events of 9/11wherever it may lead, in hopes of bringing the right people to justice, healing some of the terrible woundsand setting an example and standard of truth for future generations. We should demand nothing less.

The attacks of Sept 11, 2001 happened 9 years ago. Since that time numerous explanations have been putforth by various organizations, including our own government entities, FEMA and NIST -- the NationInstitute of Standards and Technology. We will, here today, present compelling new information which clearland unfortunately, refutes what these official sources have told us.

However, despite all previous refutations, the mainstream media has continued to promote the official story.

We, as members of the 9/11 Truth movement, seek the truth. We are here to say that the American people,indeed the people of the world, deserve better. We stand here today representing the three most recentprofessional groups to join forces with the worldwide 9/11 Truth Movement. We are actors, artists, scientistsand military officers. We are not professional criminal investigators.

However, from the evidence that has come to light over the years, and in light of new evidence which whave chosen to share with you today, it is clear that aspects of the attacks required intimate knowledge of theinner workings of the US Defense Department, the Federal Aviation Administration, and even the securitmeasures in place at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Given the growing list of inconsistencieswithin even the official accounts, we stand here today before you to urge you to join us in supporting a newand independent investigation.

We do not know who committed this heinous act. We do not know how they did it. We do know that there more than sufficient evidence to show that what our official government entities have told us is false. For thireason, we plan to continue our campaign to reopen the investigation so that we may, once and for all, fullyunderstand what happened, why, and how. Then and only then will justice be done. To make matters worse,in view of the falsity of the explanations we've been given, it is all the more unacceptable that innocent peoplshould continue to die in otherwise unjustified wars, fought in the name of 9/11.

Finally, the American people at large no longer support the war in Afghanistan, as seen by a new AssociatedPress poll released August 20th, with only 38% support for the war down from 46% in March. The questiois: does this 38% know about the evidence we are about to present?

The scientific evidence is overwhelming that the three sky-scrapers in the World Trade Center, the Twin Towers and Building 7were demolished with the aid of explosives on September 11, 2001.

Here are some of the key pieces of evidence.

1. Two studies of the downward motion of the North Tower, one by Graeme MacQueen and Tony Szamboti, the other by myselfDavid Chandler, both available online at the Journal of 9/11 Studies the links are in your press kit establish that the falling tosection of the building did not deliver an impact to the lower section of the building that could have crushed the core structurand caused it to fail. In order to deliver an impact, the falling section would have to give up some of its momentum, and hencslow down. This didn't happen. There are good reasons to believe the falling section COULD NOT have destroyed the buildinHowever, what both of these papers establish is the observational fact that it DID NOT destroy the building. It would have takeexplosives to cause the destruction we all saw.

2. The fall of Building 7 was even more anomalous. It underwent a sudden transition from complete support to complete freefaand continued in freefall for well over 2 seconds, while it fell over 100 feet. That's 8 stories of support that were completeeliminated. An object in freefall can do no work on other things along the way. Something had to clear the path to allow thupper section of the building to fall unimpeded. Something had to remove all support for 8 storeys, across the entire width of thbuilding, which by the way was the size of a football field, simultaneously to within a fraction of a second in order for the buildto fall straight down as it did.

At first, NIST tried to cover up the fact of freefall, claiming it fell 40% slower than freefall. When I and others challenged themtheir denial of freefall, they actually changed the report. The final report acknowledges freefall, but claims it is consistent wtheir prior analysis. This is physically impossible. NIST transformed a blatant lie into an incoherent and still false bare assertion.

3. The NIST scenario for the destruction of the twin towers was based on supposed high temperatures from fire. The question ohigh temperatures in the towers has an interesting twist. On the one hand, the highest possible temperatures due to kerosenefuel and office fires missed the melting point of steel by at least 1000F. Evidence shows the fires burned a lot cooler than that,so NIST and its defenders came up with scenarios whereby steel merely weakened by office fires could fail and trigger a globa

collapse.However, on the other side of the coin, there is evidence for temperatures in the towers much higher than the melting point osteel. There are mountains of eyewitness testimony to molten steel in the rubble pile. The rubble continued to burn at hightemperatures for literally months. There are massive beams twisted like pretzels without ripping or buckling. This can only baccomplished at high temperature. There are objects that have been dubbed meteorites: composites of molten concrete andsteel. Most telling are the billions of iron microspheres scattered throughout the dust that covered New York. These testify ttemperatures that could melt iron, in conditions that could spray it into a mist, whose droplets condensed before hitting thground. There is no mechanism for these to be created during office fires.

4. The last piece of evidence I want to mention is one that should have clinched the case a year and a half ago: the identification ounreacted nano-thermite in the dust. Points 1, 2, and 3 are each, in themselves, smoking guns. This is the loaded gun. Howmany murder suspects have been convicted due to powder burns on their hands? This is a new, high tech, military gradematerial that can be tailored into either an incendiary, that can burn hot and fast, or an actual explosive. It not only points t

buildings rigged in advance by insiders, but like the genetics of the weaponized anthrax attacks, it points directly to thinvolvement of high level insiders with connections in the military-industrial complex.

Leading figures in the uncovering of all four of these lines of evidence are members of the newly formed Scientists for 9/11 TrutWe are here not just to lend credibility to the movement that demands a new investigation into the events of September 11TH -- asper the scientists petition that is being unveiled today, but to actively uncover that truth, piece-by-piece.

A native of Tucson, Arizona, Lt. Col.Gapp graduated from the University of Arizona with aBachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics in 1978. He was commissioned as an Air Forceofficer in May, 1978 and entered Undergraduate Navigator Training at Mather AFB, CA. Hereceived the Commanders Trophy as the Top Graduate, and was assigned as a back-seaterWeapons Systems Officer in the RF-4 Phantom. He completed a three year tour in Germany,whereupon he was selected for Undergraduate Pilot Training. After receiving his pilot wings, he returned to pilot the RF-4 PhantoLt. Col.Gapp attended the US Air Forces Accident Investigation School, and is an experienced aircraft Class A mishap accideninvestigator, as well as Safety Board President. Lt. Col.Gapps other assignments were to Austin TX, Washington DC, Rio dJaneiro & Brasilia, Brazil, Tucson AZ, and the Azores island of Terceira in Portugal, from where he retired on September 1, 2009.

A combat veteran, Lt. Col.Gapp deployed to Southwest Asia in 2006 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and OperatioEnduring Freedom. There he served as Chief of the Master Air Attack Planning at the Combined Air Operations Center, in chargof creating the daily Air Task Order to support ground troops with tactical fighter and bomber aircraft in both Afghanistan and Iraq

He spent half his 31-year career flying fighters, and then transitioned to become an International Affairs Specialists. He attendedthe Defense Language Institute for Portuguese language, and was an exchange officer for one year with the Brazilian Air ForceHe served as the Assistant Air Attach at the US Embassy in Brazil, and was an Instructor Pilot in the C-12 King Air. Working fHeadquarters US Air Forces South, he was Chief of the Air Forces Theatre Security Cooperation programs for all of Central anSouth America. Lt. Col.Gapps last assignment was as Chief of Political Affairs for the 65th Air Base Wing where he and his stserved as the liaison between the US Air Force and the Portuguese Air Force located at Lajes Field, The Azores.

Improbability of ALL 8 Airline Pilots voluntarily giving up control of their aircraft to individuals stating they have boxcutters and have or will kill passengers; this is not the established protocol to give up control of aircraft andresponsibility of safety for your passengers and crew

Improbability of ALL 8 Airline Pilots being killed without a flight control reaction to upend any cockpit invasion Improbability of ALL 8 Airline Pilots not entering the Hijack or Emergency Code into the transponder

Improbability IF the above occurred that the marginally-trained hijackers would be able to operate the navigationalsystems and fly to specific points in airspace using Instrument Flight Rules

Improbability of manoeuvring the airliners above 400 kts airspeed (considered high speed) and precisely striking thecomparatively small WTC 1 & 2 (Professional pilots in simulators have about a one in three chance of accomplishingthis manoeuvre.)

Improbability of manoeuvring AA Flight 77 from 35,000 feet descending to hit the Pentagon, as stated by USG in theFlight Data Recorder (FDR); specifically a 330 degree turn, descending at a controlled airspeed of 290-300 kts, toprecisely strike the Pentagon at ground level

As a military fighter pilot, I have questions as to why the numerous Air Defense systems were not utilized that day,including intercept aircraft that had plenty of time from approx 8:14 am when ATC controllers realized somethingwas wrong with AA Flight 11 (did not respond to authorization to change flight levels). Otis AFB has F-15 fighter-interceptors nearby; Flight 11 hit North Tower 8:45 am. Many other bases, including Andrews AFB outside Wash DCand Langley AFB VA have fighters on alert - why did none of them launch in time to intercept, as AA Flight 77 didnot strike until 9:47 am.

As a pilot, I concur with Colonel Gapp's analysis of the gross improbabilities in the officialconspiracy theory. And as an old interceptor pilot, I concur with his puzzlement over the lack of interceptors that fateful morning.

As a career military officer, I would like to concentrate on the enormous harm the official 9/11 myth has done to our military establishment and to the people in it.

Using 9/11 as the excuse, the multinational corporations and bankers have used our brave young troops as cannonfodder in their corporate wars of aggression. They have systematically taken away our Constitutional rights,including those of our military personnel. And they have stolen 96% of the wealth our workers create with their labor.

The entire War on Terror is phony, and it would be even if you believed the ludicrous official conspiracy theory. Bothwars were planned long before 9/11. The war of aggression against Afghanistan was in retaliation for the Talibanrefusing Unocal rights to build a gas pipeline across Afghanistan to get trillions of dollars worth of gas from theCaspian Sea to their tankers in the ocean. The military leadership knew it had nothing to do with the Taliban"harboring Osama bin Laden." The Taliban had offered to give us Osama for trial, but the Bush administrationignored the offer for two reasons:

1) they had no evidence against Osama, and according to the FBI, still don't, and2) the war had already been planned in detail to secure that gas pipeline.

The War against Iraq was outlined in the PNAC document "Rebuilding America's Defenses" published beforeGeorge W. Bush even became president. Its purpose was to provide a military staging base from which to controlthe entire Middle East and its tens of trillions of dollars worth of oil and gas. The authors of that document admittedin it that the American people would never go along with their plans unless there was "a catalyzing event, like a newPearl Harbor." 9/11 provided that event. Yet they were unable to tie Iraq to 9/11, no matter how hard they tried. Sothey came up with a new excuse - WMD, weapons of mass destruction. It is here that we in the military saw throughtheir charade. They had us mass 150,000 troops in one small area in Kuwait, awaiting the start of "Shock and Awe."If our military commanders had even the slightest thought that Saddam Hussein might have even one WMD, theynever would have deployed their troops so that they could be wiped out in a single attack with one WMD. The truthis that our government knew there were no WMD. Our people in the military were put in a horrible position. Either sacrifice their career and their freedom by refusing orders, or knowingly participate in a war of aggression, againsttheir oath of office and the Nuremberg Principles enshrined in the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

What has been the result of these two wars of aggression, wars in which they were making the same mistake as inmy war, Vietnam - we were fighting the people who live there? The result has been the death of over 5,000 of our finest. The lives of 40,000 of our injured soldiers will never be the same. Tens of thousands of our young men andwomen have severe psychological problems because of what they have seen and what they have done. No oneshould ever be asked to do what they have had to do. Hundreds of thousands have been poisoned by depleteduranium and will suffer lives of pain and disability, and will father thousands of children with severe birth defects. Our military services are depleted and demoralized. The VA system is underfunded and overwhelmed. The Reservesand National Guard have been subjected to tour after tour, disrupting lives for even the lucky ones who returnunscathed. Jobs have been lost, homes have been foreclosed, marriages have been destroyed, children have beenestranged ... and for what? We have alienated our friends around the world and made new enemies. We havecreated thousands of new recruits for Osama bin Laden, whether he's alive or dead. And we have further endangered the American people. All because of 9/11.

Los Angeles Presentations There is evidence of a massive cover-up with respect to 9/11 itself. I have spoken with both Governor Keane and

Congressman Hamilton, the co chairs of the 9/11 commission, and they both say that there are outright falsehoodsin the final report, over which they had no control. It was written in the White House by Phillip Zelikow. When youcombine this with the confiscation of videotapes, audiotapes, black boxes, and other evidence by the FBI, it is clear that regardless of WHO was responsible for 9/11, the subsequent cover-up was itself a conspiracy involvingelements of the Bush White House and the intelligence establishment.

The American people have never been told who was really responsible for 9/11. Dedicated researchers have proventhat it could NOT have happened the way the Bush administration said it did. Hijacked airliners do not fly around for an hour and 40 minutes without being intercepted - unless our air defenses had been deliberately sabotaged, and 19 Arabs with box cutters could not have done that. Indestructible black boxes do not evaporate in the same fire fromwhich an unharmed passport floats to the street below. Airliners, all of whose parts carry identifying numbers, do notcrash without leaving a shred of evidence as to what they were. And those of us who are scientists and engineerstestify to the many laws of physics violated by the official conspiracy theory. The truth about 9/11 is that after nineyears, we still don't KNOW the truth about 9/11, and we should. And so should the families of victims. And let usalways remember, the victims of 9/11 include the 5,500 military personnel who have lost their lives in the Afghan andIraqi wars, as well as the hundreds of thousands of innocent Afghans and Iraqis. All of these victims and their families cry out for a new and independent investigation of 9/11. Only when the official myth is exposed and theTruth told will the wars and occupations end, the creation of new victims stopped, and our military returned to thetask of protecting our borders and our people, not the financial interests of multinational corporations.

As a 100% disabled combat veteran, I say the best thing our government can do for us is to quit making more of us. Support what's left of our troops by bringing them home while they're still alive.

Penny Little, ActressStatement to AA911Truth:My film 911 Dust and Deceit exposes the problems caused by the misrepresentations of various individuals withinagencies in New York and Washington, who covered up the fact that the dust from Ground Zero was extremely toxic. There was littlconsideration for the collateral damage caused by the ongoing chemical attack on the people of New York in the form of this toxic dust. Thpeople were lied to and now thousands are sick, and hundreds have died as a direct result. This is a crime, still in progress. This evidence revealsgovernment cover-up, lies, and obvious problems with the fairy tale of 9/11 sold to the public through the mainstream corporate media. But idoesnt stop there. The dust, which was pulverized into very fine particles, has been found to have nanothermite in it. Nanothermite is a state-ofthe-art high explosive composite with incendiary properties. Its presence implies that the WTC buildings were brought down on 9/11 by sommeans other than what the official story claims. There are too many questions about 911. The citizens of the US and the citizens of the worlddeserve a proper investigation with true subpoena power. The lies of 9/11 are the master key to an agenda to wage illegal wars, rescindConstitutional rights, and fast-track to global corporate hegemony.

John Heard, Actor Good morning ladies and gentlemen, Im John Heard. Recent polls indicate that a majority of Americans oppose U.S. involvemein Afghanistan. Our leaders in Washington chose to invade both Iraq and Afghanistan as a direct result of the events of 9/11Events which have never been properly investigated. How is it possible that the worst crime in U.S. history has never been proper

investigated?

Im honored to stand before you today to stand in solidarity with the military officers, scientists and my fellow artists in support ofully independent investigation into the events of September 11, 2001. Over 100 actors, artists, film makers, musicians and writerhave signed the AA911Truth petition and spoken out eloquently on these vital matters.

In the words of my colleague Ed Asner,

9-11 has been used to justify endless war and a continual rollback in civil liberties that seems tohave no end in sight. Yet, 9-11 remains the least examined tragedy in modern American history. Americans would have never agreed to the last two wars and the Patriot Act's disturbing policy . . .had it not been for 9-11. There are many disturbing issues around 9-11 that have yet to be examinedin any meaningful way by our media, Congress, and even by the 9-11 Commission."

I conclude by saying that if we are going to realize the kind of civil society that was dreamed and designed by our founding fathewe must first clear up the truth about these events that now pose a grave threat to our democracy. If properly investigated, theevents of September 11, 2001 may serve as a vital catalyst to squarely face the truth, take stock, and renew our democratictradition.

At this very moment, press conferences are taking place in both New York (Los Angeles) and Washington DC, where the 1270-strong Architects and Engineersfor 9/11 Truth are publicizing alarm over the official reports of the destruction of the three World Trade Center high-rises, and are demanding of Congress a newinvestigation.

What we're asking for --all we're asking for -- is a new investigation since the first

one was so obviously hobbled in as many ways as possible. Even if there weren'ta wealth of evidence to contradict the official findings, there obviously has to be anew investigation; and, in fact, there are so many overwhelming counter-arguments---as we will hear at this press conference---that a new investigation isessential.

It is an honour and a privilege for me to share this opportunity with Mr. Daniel Sunjata and Lt. Col. Shelton Lankford, to announceformation of Scientists for 9/11 Truth on behalf of the organizing committee.

Scientists for 9/11 Truth joins the diverse groups of professionals who also have expressed mistrust in the official version of the eof September, 11th, 2001. Among the established organizations, we find Architects and Engineers, Firefighters, Intelligence OfLawyers, Pilots, Veterans, Media Professionals, Medical Professionals, Political Leaders, Religious Leaders, and Scholars forTruth and Justice!

Scientists distinguish themselves by the study of the laws of nature, and every scientist can subscribe to one fundamental conditiodealing with our physical environment:

You cannot fool nature,

Nature is always right.

This fact has been the basis of four hundred years of natural science.

It is also the basis for the criticism of the official accounts of 9/11 coming from todays scientific community.

Everybody knows that two airliners slammed into the Twin Towers which subsequently collapsed.

Surprisingly few know that a third skyscraper, 7 World Trade Center, also known simply as Building 7, being almost half the hthe towers, and with a base the size of a football field, completely collapsed straight down into its own footprint seven hours afTwin Towers.

There were two airliners, but there were three skyscrapers.

All three towers were destroyed in an unprecedented fashion, since no steel-framed high rise building has ever collapsed due to firbefore or after 9/11.

So, just from simple statistics, it is more than highly improbable, that an event, which never before has been observed, should three times on the same day.

In spite of these hopeless odds, the official investigators have tried to make probable an explanation that the World Trade Ctowers collapsed due to ordinary office fires.

In the opinion of Scientists for 9/11 Truth, their attempt to provide an acceptable explanation is an utter failure.

The official reports from The National Institute of Standards and Technology - commonly known as NIST - violate all the princscientific investigation.

The reports from NIST are flawed to such an extent that they must be characterized as deliberate attempts to cover up the real causevents.

For example, a simple observation of the video footage of Building 7, when compared with pictures of known controlled demreveals an obvious and striking similarity. It has never happened that the collapse of a building, which showed ALL the feature

controlled demolition, turned out NOT to be a controlled demolition.Many scientific investigators have supported the claim that the three towers in the World Trade Center were brought down by contdemolitions using explosives and incendiaries. We refer to the references provided in your press kit.

In this work, detection and characterization of particlesreactive, thermitic material in the pulverized remains of World Trade Center are described. Thermite can serve as an incendiary caof cutting steel structures by means of heat at extremely high temperatures. But the thermite reaction can also form the basis for tech formulations of explosives.

This investigation with conclusions drawn from our own observations - is but one indication that high-tech thermite was appliedcontrolled demolition of World Trade Center.

Among the other observations, only a few can be mentioned here.

For example, there are a great many eyewitness testimonies from clean-up workers of molten iron in the rubble pile. Ordinaryfires can never reach temperatures high enough to melt iron.

NASA measured extreme surface temperatures on the rubble pile at Ground Zero in the days following 9/11. Again, these observa

can only be explained by thermitic reactions.Furthermore, the rubble continued to burn at high temperatures for literally months. It took the New York Fire Department three mto put out these fires. Only ongoing thermitic reactions can explain this resistance to water and fire suppressant chemicals.

No less remarkably, The United States Geological Survey and The RJ Lee Group, Inc. independently described finding millions microspheres scattered throughout the dust that covered New York. These tiny spheres testify to temperatures that could melt under such conditions that could spray it into a mist, whose droplets condensed before hitting the ground. There is no way thesspheres can be created during ordinary office fires. They can only be produced by thermite.

A number of other peer-reviewed publications in your press kit describe unusual findings, which are only compatible with the appof thermitic materials. It must be stressed, however, that all this evidence does not exclude the use of non-thermitic explosives. It isprobable that more conventional explosives were also applied in the demolitions of the World Trade Center.

But NIST has NOT tested for residual explosives in the World Trade Center dust. Nor have they looked for other signs of expimpacts on the building elements, in spite of the fact for everyone to see that huge steel beams and girders were hurledhorizontally during the collapses of The Twin Towers. Only explosives can produce the forces required to hurl heavy beams and ghundreds of feet through the air.

Such testing for explosives is routine in fire investigations and its omission is not simply an act of negligence or oversight on behalf. On the contrary, NIST has been repeatedly requested to perform a general analysis for remaining explosives in the World TCenter dust, as they are committed to do according to the Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations put out by the NationaProtection Association.

NIST has openly refused to follow the code.

Beyond sharing a profound rejection of the official, technical reports from NIST, the members of Scientists for 9/11 Truth also recthe social, political, economical, cultural, artistic and ethical implications of the 9/11 events.

As you run down the list of more than sixty scientists who have signed our petition prior to this official launch of the organizatiwill notice that the vast majority of signatories are retired.

This situation reflects a depressing development in the academic world since 9/11.

It has become a very bad career-move to discuss the physical aspects of the 9/11 events and express any concern or discomfort wthe official version. Previously, universities and other academic institutions were havens for free speech, and as such were one oindispensable pillars for a blooming and decent society. Now, they have been gagged to such an extent that our very civilizationstake.

No less.

Scientific arguments will play an important role in the outcome of this battle.

But while we do not have many young scientists on board yet, we have Sir Isaac Newton on our team.

Never have there been any exceptions to Newtons laws in the world we live in.

Newton is always right!

So, in more than one sense, this is a battle between the past and the present for the future.

Hello,

My name is Shelton Lankford. I am a retired Lt. Col, United States Marine Corps, a Naval Aviator with over 10,000 hours of flight time, and a Vietnam veteran with over 300 combat missions. I am also a charter signatory of a petition calling for a new investigation into the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

When I raised my right hand to be sworn in as a new Second Lieutenant in 1964, I promised to defend theConstitution of the United States of America from all enemies, foreign and domestic. I have not beennotified of my having been relieved of that duty.

In this context, I want to mention one of my Marine Corps heroes, Major General Smedley Darlington Butler. General Butler wasup to prospective officers in my Marine Science classes as an exemplar of the courage, devotion to duty, and sense of honexpected of all Marines. He was twice awarded the countrys highest military decoration, the Medal of Honor, and his skill and brin battle was legendary. That was all I knew about Gen. Butler until long after I had retired from the Marine Corps. I learned the rehis story from a written version of speeches he made after he left the service. In those speeches, which appeared later under the titof War is a Racket, published in 1935, and reissued in 2003, he confessed that his Marine Corps campaigns had much in commwith the hired thugs employed by the notorious gangsters of his day, in that his military expeditions made Mexico safe for thinterests, and Haiti, Nicaragua, and Cuba safe for the bankers and United Fruit. He inveighed bitterly against war profiteers, foresaw the rise of militarism and the military industrial complex, spurred on by the greed of arms manufacturers and those wsupply the wasteful consumption of war, to their great profit, and the impoverishment of both American citizens and the counupon which our martial attentions are visited. Our current conflicts would, no doubt, look familiar to him.

But his finest hour, in my opinion, was when he became a whistle-blower, exposing a plot to overthrow the government headedFranklin D. Roosevelt, with the intent of replacing it with a fascist dictatorship.

The industrialists and financiers behind the effort attempted to recruit him to lead a large contingent of veterans to form the mil

wing of the plot. They picked the wrong Marine, and he exposed the plot in front of Congress. Hearings were held, and the plotscurried back into the dark behind their money and their lawyers, but the plot was foiled.

If General Butler were exposing a plot today, he would, no doubt, be labelled by some a conspiracy theorist, the modern labchoice used to dismiss those who challenge the version of events preferred by government and the media.

There is a great deal of persuasive evidence that contradicts the media-preferred version of events. As a pilot, I recognize that theare many aspects of the officially approved conspiracy theory of 9/11 that are incredible in the most literal sense of that word. example:

A severely undertrained pilot who was described by instructors as incompetent to fly even a single engine Cessna,flew an aircraft he had never flown before, spiralling from 35,000 to ground level with military precision to strikemysteriously in an almost unoccupied, recently renovated section of the Pentagon.

Four highly trained, commercial flight crews gave up their aircraft to lightly armed, slightly built hijackers, apparentlywithout a struggle and without even perturbing the flight controls.

Four highly trained flight crews failed to broadcast the required hijack transponder codes. After the event, well-established procedures for investigating air crashes were ignored. Positive identification of

serialized parts and airframes has never been done. No reconstruction of wreckage - routine in air crashinvestigations - was even attempted in any of the four cases.

The flight data recorder data, alleged to be from the Pentagon aircraft - American Flight 77, when analyzed, doesnot support the government version of events, and requests for clarification from the National Transportation SafetyBoard and FBI were ignored or dismissed with no comment.

The most expensive and powerful military in the world failed to do anything to interfere with the planes during the hijackinand attacks during a period spanning almost 90 minutes

Despite the proximity of fighter bases and aircraft on alert, no U. S. fighter aircraft got within sight of the planes. And yet none was fired or reprimanded. Several key figures were promoted, including those at crucial positions during arguably themost serious failure of our defense establishment and our national leadership in our countrys history. In fact promotionand rewards were common for those in key positions from the President on down, whose performance was, by anystandard, ineffectual or even derelict.

I am not claiming to have all the answers - far from it. But I do call for a serious, independent, and rigorous investigation of thevents, and serious consideration of the reams of evidence turned up by architects and engineers, scholars, and scientists,represented here today by Dr. Harrit, and other researchers.

I want answers to the contradictions in the 9/11 Commission report, thoroughly documented by Dr. David Ray Griffin, who hauthored a shelf full of books thoroughly dissecting the government version of events.

I stand with firefighters who point out the routine nature of arson investigations required by the National Fire Protection Associatistandard for Fire and Explosion whenever a fire results in loss of life or High Order damage. But in the case of 9/11, thoscharged with investigating the very mysterious collapses studiously avoided even considering the possibility of the use oexplosives, despite the evidence on the video record and in first responder and other statements.

I ask that journalists join us in demanding answers to the hundreds of questions surrounding these events.I am not engaged in theorizing when I point out the inadequacy of the government explanation of events.

One thing is certain. Regardless of who perpetrated the act, and there is clearly ample evidence to suggest that is was not theparties identified by our government and a steady media blitz, there is no doubt at all who completely failed to investigate honestly. There is no doubt who exploited the event to the fullest to carry out an agenda of military conquest that would nootherwise have been possible. There is no doubt who used the event to terrorize the American people afterward with a constantstream of reminders of what we have to fear, complete with color coding and breathless press conferences.

In previous crises, our leaders have urged us not to give in to fear. Franklin Roosevelt said, in a former time of great crisis, that awe have to fear is fear itself. Following 9/11, we were urged to keep shopping, but to be afraid of everything, to the point osupporting an invasion of a country that even they could only tie to the event with false innuendo and exaggerated claims. Eventoday, we are being told that the conversion of an old Burlington Coat factory store to a community center in this city is a threat.

Post-9/11 political posturing bears a strong resemblance to the old-fashioned protection rackets for which the gangsters of the20s and 30s were notorious, running them on innocent shop owners. General Butler would recognize it in an instant. We wertold repeatedly that an implacable and relentless foe with weapons of mass destruction hate us for our freedoms and are bent ondestroying us and our way of life. Only those who had failed utterly to protect us when it was needed could protect us from this dirthreat by taking our nation to war.

Even now, after the falsity of their claims has been exposed, after the longest war in our history, the FBI admits that they do nothave evidence that ties Osama Bin Laden to 9/11, or even that he remains alive.

I support the Building What? campaign that identifies Building 7 as a vital piece of evidence that flatly contradicts tpropagandistic papering over of facts attempted by the 9/11 Commission Report.

If the truth will, indeed, set us free, then it is essential that we demand the truth.

I stand with General Butler, who acted on his belief that to remain silent when a racket is being run on the country is a violation o

our sworn duty. I call on Journalists, other military officers, New Yorkers, and all Americans to demand answers that can only comfrom an independent and serious investigation with real subpoena power, and a rigorous examination of all of the evidence. If Wais a Racket, surely to justify war based on an incomplete and fraudulent investigation of 9/11 is a heinous abuse of the power ofthis great land. Americans, and indeed all the people of the world, deserve better.

The attacks of Sept 11, 2001 happened 9 years ago. Since that time numerous explanations have been put forth by variousorganizations, including our own government entities, FEMA and NIST -- the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Whave, here today, presented compelling new information which clearly, and unfortunately, refutes what these official sources havtold us.

However, despite all previous refutations, the mainstream media has continued to promote the official story.

We, as members of the 9/11 Truth movement, seek the truth. We are here to say that the American people, indeed the people of the world, deserve better. We stand here today representing the three most recent professional groups to join forces with theworldwide 9/11 Truth Movement. We are actors, artists, scientists, and military officers. We are not professional crimininvestigators.

However, from the evidence that has come to light over the years, and in light of new evidence which we have chosen to sharewith you today, it is clear that aspects of the attacks required intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the US DefensDepartment, the Federal Aviation Administration, and even the security measures in place at the World Trade Center and thePentagon. Given the growing list of inconsistencies within even the official accounts, we stand here to urge you to join us supporting a new and independent investigation.

We do not know who committed this heinous act. We do not know how they did it. We do know that there is more than sufficieevidence to show that what our official government entities have told us is false. For this reason, we plan to continue our campaigto reopen the investigation so that we may, once and for all, fully understand what happened, why, and how. Then and only thenwill justice be done. To make matters worse, in view of the falsity of the explanations we've been given, it is all the mounacceptable that innocent people should continue to die in otherwise unjustified wars, fought in the name of 9/11.

Finally, the American people at large no longer support the war in Afghanistan, as seen by a new Associated Press poll released August 20th, with only 38% support for the war down from 46% in March. The question is: does this 38% know about thevidence that we have presented here today?

We, the members of Scientists for 9/11 Truth, challenge the official account of the events of September 11, 2001. In particular, we challenge the official account of the destruction of theWorld Trade Center provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST),acting under the Bush-Cheney administrations Department of Commerce. According to NISTsreports, the Twin Towers were destroyed solely by the impact of the airliners combined with theeffects of the ensuing fires, and WTC 7 was brought down by fire alone.

Besides questioning the accuracy of these reports by NIST, we also question their scientificintegrity. We do so primarily because of NISTs refusal to seriously consider the possibility that

explosive materials of any type may have been involved in the destruction of the WTC Towersand WTC 7. That explosives were involved is indicated by several lines of evidence, including:

The manner in which the buildings collapsed: too fast, too symmetrical, and toouniform to be caused by heat from random fires.

The collapse of WTC 7 at free-fall acceleration for over 2 seconds (more than 100feet), indicating that the columns below were providing zero resistance.

Testimonies by dozens of credible witnesses that explosions were going off in thebuildings.

Observation of temperatures in the rubble that were higher, and of far longer duration, than can be accounted for by normal fires.

Observation of anomalous particles in the WTC dust that indicate the use of explosives or pyrotechnics.

President Obama promised to restore science to its rightful place in determining public policy.Mindful of this, we ask him to authorize a new, complete, unbiased investigation, with subpoenapower, to identify possible criminal activities, both in committing crimes and in covering them up.This investigation could quickly proceed with a Special Prosecutor or a Forensic Science Panel,

for instance.

Simultaneous pressconferences were held in New York and Los Angeles to present startling new information refuting the official 9/11 narrative, used justify the war. Also announced were three major professional groups which have joined the worldwide, and ever-growing, 9/Truth Movement.

In a striking show of unity, representatives of Scientists for 9/11 Truth, U.S. Military Officers for 9/11 Truth and Actors & Artistsfor 9/11 Truth presented their findings and unveiled their eye-opening websites. Each non-profit group has launched a petitiocalling for a new, transparent investigation.

In NY, representing Scientists, Professor Niels Harrit said, The official account put forth by NIST violates the fundamental lawphysics and chemistry. Harrit is Prof. Emeritus at the University of Copenhagen and was lead author for a 2009 peer-reviewestudy that revealed evidence of high tech explosives throughout the WTC dust.

In LA, physics teacher David Chandler discussed the swift destruction of the WTC towers, including Building 7, the little-known tower. Having demonstrated its free fall, he confronted the US government agency NIST with hisanalyses and forced NIST torevise its November 2008Final Report on WTC 7 . NISTsDraft Report had claimed free fall was impossible but NIST ultimatelyacknowledged WTC 7 was in absolute free fall for over two seconds. Concluded Chandler, Free fall is physically impossibwithout explosives.

In LA, former Director of Advanced Space Programs Development Lt. Col. Robert Bowman stated, 9/11 has been an excuse tuse our brave young troops as cannon fodder in unjust wars of aggression. In NY, Lt. Col. Shelton Lankford, decorated fightpilot, and USAF Accident Investigator Lt. Col. David Gapp in LA, questioned how four highly trained flight crews would all bprotocol, reporting, Not one pilot broadcast the required hijack transponder codes.

In LA, actor John Heard asked, How is it possible that the worst crime in U.S. history has never been properly investigated? NY, actor Daniel Sunjata stated, The August 20th AP poll has revealed that only 38% of the American people support the war in Afghanistan, down from 46% in March.
