DAY TWO WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21, 2017ARRIVAL�Arrive at Ben Gurion International Airport.�Welcome by our representative and assistance with arrival

formalities. Meet your tour educator and educational youth counselor and depart for Jerusalem via historical route # 1.

�Welcome to Jerusalem: Enter the vibrant and colorful ancient city of Jerusalem, and experience the convergence of the old and the new.

�Stop at the Haas Promenade for an overlook of the Old and New City of Jerusalem and to recite the traditional “shehechiyanu” blessing, with greetings and music by Nir Tamir, Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem and Rabbinical student at HUC.

�Check into the hotel.�Welcome dinner at the hotel, followed by an orientation

and overview of the journey, led by Rabbi Bauer and your tour educator.

3,000 years as you explore the excavations at the City of David, the very core of ancient Jerusalem, and follow the biblical stories, especially the siege over Jerusalem:

history.Youth�Watch a 3D-movie describing the history of the City of David.All�Turn on your flashlights and view the Gihon Spring as you

wade through the 2,700-year-old mysterious water tunnel of King Hezekiah (optional dry exit).

�Enter the Old City and stop at the Kotel to experience the special atmosphere of this holy site; then walk through the Western Wall Tunnel, the underground continuation of the Western Wall alongside the Temple Mount.

�Lunch on own in the Jewish Quarter and continue with a walking tour to more archaeological treasures and other highlights, among them:

DAY SEVEN MONDAY, JUNE 26, 2017INTO THE DESERT�Breakfast at the hotel.�Check out of the hotel.�Guided tour of the Knesset, Israel's Parliament.�Depart Jerusalem and drive to the Ella Valley to take part

in an archaeological dig at the Beit Guvrin Caves; prepare to get your hands dirty uncovering pottery from the Hellenistic period, 2,300 years ago, followed by a crawl through the Maresha Cave Labyrinth (crawling is optional).

�Beit Guvrin-Maresha National Park was recently recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

�Lunch on own en route.�Continue to Kfar Hanokdim, a Bedouin camp located in the

Southern Judean Desert for Bedouin-style hospitality, a camel ride, a ‘Hafla' dinner and a night under the stars in a Bedouin tent.

DAY EIGHT TUESDAY, JUNE 27, 2017MASADA AND THE DEAD SEA�Breakfast at the hotel.�Early rising, followed by tea and cookies at the camp.�Depart Nokdim and ascend the Roman Ramp to Masada,

Herod's mountain palace and site of the Jewish Zealots' last stand against the Roman Legionnaires. Discuss Masada's role as a symbol of Jewish defence and its current significance in modern Israel.

�Descend Masada by cable car and enjoy breakfast at Masada's Visitors' Center.

�Float in the Dead Sea and use the spa facilities of one of the Dead Sea hotels, including lunch.

�Short hike to Nahal David, the freshwater spring and waterfalls in the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, where David hid from King Saul.

�Drive northwards along the Jordan Valley, part of the enormous Syrian-African Rift.

�Continue to the Upper Galilee and check into the hotel.�Dinner at the hotel.
