March 6 ‐ Depart USAYour pilgrimage begins as you depart the USA on an overnightflight.

March 7 ‐ Arrive in the Holy LandOnce you arrive, you be welcomed at the Tel Aviv airport by ourrepresentative and transferred to your hotel in Netanya to enjoydinner and overnight.

March 8 ‐ Mediterranean Coast and Jezreel ValleyVisit the Roman Aqueduct and Theatre at Caesarea, a center of earlyChristianity (Acts 10) and where Paul was imprisoned for two years(Acts 23:33). View Mount Carmel and recall Elijah’s dramatic victoryover the prophets of Baal (I Kings 18). Follow an ancient caravanroute through the Jezreel Valley to Tel Megiddo, an excitingarcheological dig with layers of twenty different cities, all built ontop of each other. Visit Sepphoris, the capital of Galilee in Jesus’youth, where Jesus and Joseph probably earned their living asconstruction workers. End the day’s travels in Nazareth, theboyhood home of Jesus (Matthew 2:23) and the Mount of Precipicewhere Luke describes how Jesus was rejected by those in hishometown synagogue. Filled with anger they “led him to the browof the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast himdown headlong.” (Luke 4:29). Explore the Nazareth Village, a livingpresentation of the life, times, and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth.Check in to your Tiberias hotel for dinner and overnight.

March 9 ‐ Northern IsraelVisit Hazor, the ancient Canaanite city which later served as one ofSolomon's chariot cities (I Kings 9:15). It was also one of theinspirations for James Michener's book, The Source. Travel north toTel Dan, one of ancient Israel's boundary markers ‐ "From Dan toBeersheba." Continue to Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus traveledwith His disciples and where nearby Peter made his great confessionto Jesus, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matthew16:16). End your day by passing through the Golan Heights and gaina better appreciation of their strategic importance. Look out fromMount Bental over the valley that leads to Damascus. Saul wouldhave his life transforming vision on his way there (Acts 9). Travel toMount Arbel and walk along its peak for a stunning view of the Seaof Galilee and the area in which Jesus ministered, with extendedviews of Mt. Hermon in the north and Mt. Tabor in the south. Walka portion of the Valley of the Wind and Doves, the path fromNazareth to the Sea that Jesus and the disciples would have walked.Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

March 10 – GalileeWatch the sunrise over the Sea of Galilee where fishermen work thewaters with nets much as in the time of Jesus. At Kibbutz NofGinosar, you will learn about the "Ancient Boat", a rare example ofthe kind of boat in which Jesus would have sailed. On the Sea ofGalilee, near the base of towering Mount Arbel, lie the ruins of theancient city of Magdala. Visit the peaceful Mount of Beatitudes thatoverlooks the Sea of Galilee. You’ll visit nearby Peter's Primacy andTabgha where you will see the famous 4th century mosaic of thefish and the loaves. Ride across the waters to explore Capernaum,the center of Jesus' ministry. Visit the synagogue that stands on thesite where Jesus taught. Recall his teaching and preaching thegospel of the kingdom (Matt. 4:13, 23). On this hill, Jesus preachedthe Sermon on the Mount. At the Yardenit Baptismal site, situatedwhere the Jordan River flows out of the Sea of Galilee on its way tothe Dead Sea, enjoy the peace and tranquility of the naturalsurroundings and participate in a baptismal service in the river inwhich Christ was baptized by John the Baptist (Mark 1:9 ‐11). Returnto your hotel for dinner and overnight.

March 11 ‐ Jordan River ValleyBegin your day with a visit to Beit Shean. This is the city where Sauland his sons' bodies were hung from its walls (1 Sam. 31). Theuncovered ruins date back to the Greek / Roman city that was partof the Decapolis of Jesus' day. See colonnaded streets with marblesidewalks, Roman public baths, and a theater. Visit the BaptismalSite at Kasr el Yehud, where many believe that Jesus was baptizedby John the Baptist (John 1). Next stop is Qumran, where the DeadSea Scrolls were discovered in 1947 by a Bedouin shepherd. Headto Jericho to visit the ruins of the ancient city Joshua conquered(Josh. 6:20). From there, take the cable car up to the traditional siteof the Temptation of Jesus (Matt. 4:1‐11). Check into your DeadSea/Jericho hotel for dinner and overnight.

March 12 ‐ Dead SeaEnjoy a visit to Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress builtby Herod and famous as the last stronghold of the Jewish Rebellionagainst the Romans. Ride the cable car to the top to explore thefortress. Peer down upon the remains of the Roman camps andsiege ramp below. We’ll journey to the oasis of Ein Gedi, whereDavid and his men sought refuge from Saul (1 Samuel 23). Wade inthe mineral laden waters of the Dead Sea. Even today, the roadfrom the Dead Sea to Jerusalem twists for miles as it climbs frombelow sea level into the Judean Mountains. Jesus traveled the

March 13 – JerusalemThis morning, look out over Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. Pose fora group photo here. Walk down Palm Sunday Road and take time to prayas Jesus did among the olive trees in the Garden of Gethsemane (John 18).In Bethlehem visit the cave where Jesus was born and the church that hasbeen constructed on the site (Matthew 1:18‐25; Luke 2:1‐7). Nearby, you willview Shepherds’ Field where the Good News was first heard. Visit theHerodion, the fortified palace and final resting place of Herod the Great.Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Return to your hotel fordinner and overnight.

March 14 – JerusalemSpend time at the Western or "Wailing" Wall, a section of Herod's TempleMount retaining wall adjacent to the former Holy of Holies. See the TempleMount, once the site of the Temple of Solomon (conditions permitting).Stand in the Upper Room, revered as the place of the Last Supper (Mark14:12‐26). Beneath the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, you can walkthrough some of the ancient rooms of the house belonging to Caiaphasthe High Priest. Many believe that Jesus was held overnight here beforeHis crucifixion (Luke 22). Visit the Haas Promenade and enjoy a panoramicview from the south of Jerusalem, the Old City walls and the hill calledMount Moriah where Abraham was commanded by God to offer Isaac asa burnt offering (Gen. 22:2, 4). Return to your hotel for dinner andovernight.

March 15 – JerusalemThis morning, we will explore the City of David where rich archeologicaldiscoveries have been made, including Hezekiah’s Tunnel. Visit theSouthern Wall Excavations including the Teaching Steps and then to theWestern Wall Tunnel Excavations. Journey through the Valley of Elah,where David defeated Goliath (I Samuel 17). Return to your hotel for dinnerand overnight.

Optional: This morning stand atop the Mount of Olives to enjoy a remarkableview of the sunrise over the “Golden City” of Jerusalem.

March 16 ‐ Jerusalem View the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:1‐31) where Jesus performed theSabbath miracle. Lift your voice in song in St. Anne’s Church. Walk the ViaDolorosa, “the Way of the Cross,” and reflect on His sacrificial love at theChurch of the Holy Sepulchre. Finish your day with Communion at theGarden Tomb. Prepare for your return flight.

March 17 ‐ Return to USA Return home with memories of the people and places of the Holy Land.
