FAQS: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much are booth fees?

The 2016 fees range from $125 – $200 depending on the event size, booth type and location.

How will the show be advertised?

The shows will be advertising in local newspapers, flyers/coupon distribution, email marketing

(over 7000 opt-in subscribers), paid and organic ads social media (facebook, twitter,

instagram). There also are PR opportunities such as TV Guest Appearances, Blogs and

Newspaper Articles. Craftadian events and it’s exhibitors have been featured on TV (CHCH

Morning Live, CHCH Evening News, Global News at noon, CP 24, Rogers Daytime, Hamilton

Life) in Blogs (BlogTO, Lil Miss Kate) and in Newspapers (Hamilton Spectator, Mississauga

News). Visit our media room to see past media appearances.

How many visitors come to the events?

We anticipate 2000 – 2500 visitors to each event. At our past fall show Fall Show we had 2200

visitors, and our last Christmas show in 2014 had 2700 visitors.

What is a juried show?

Most larger craft shows are juried. The jurying process usually involves sending in an application

that includes photos of your work, description of your craft and in some cases a resume. When

you call or send for an application form, all the information regarding the jurying process will be

included. In rare cases you may have to send in actual samples of your work, however, this is

becoming less common practice.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS ACCEPTANCE TERMS AND CONDITIONS: 1. This is a juried show. Vendors must submit 3-5 colour photos of their work and one photo of your booth (or sketch of your booth); Exhibitors will be accepted by show committee based on the photos provided. Prior acceptance into a Craftadian does not guarantee acceptance into future shows. Show management reserves the right to limit exhibitors in similar categories. 2. ONLY HANDMADE ITEMS ARE PERMITTED FOR SALE THIS SHOW (handmade or a component of handmade). All products must be made by the applicant, original design, in Canada). Photography is acceptable provided the photos are taken by the applicant. Non-handmade items are strictly prohibited. Non-handmade items will be removed immediately and that vendor will not be invited to future events 3. APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED no later than application deadlines (as noted above). Letters of acceptance or non-acceptance will be emailed/mailed on or before a date two weeks after the application deadline (as noted above). Applications may be accepted after the application deadline if space is available. PAYMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS: 1. All applications must accompany a $50.00 application deposit or a post-dated cheque for the full amount. 2. Cheques are payable to MADE BY HAND, post dated for the application deadlines (as noted above).

i) All dishonored items (NSF cheques) are subject to a $25.00 fee. ii) In the event of a dishonored item, the exhibitor has seven (7) days to provide a replacement cheque plus the $25 fee. After which time

Show management reserves the right to allot the space to another exhibitor. 3. Email Money Transfer and Credit Card are accepted, a $50.00 deposit is required, and the balance is due within 7 days of acceptance;

i) if non-payment after seven (7) days of acceptance, show management reserves the right to add a $10 LATE FEE; ii) if non-payment after fourteen (14) days of acceptance, show management reserves the right to allot the space to another exhibitor.

4. Exhibitor fees are non-refundable upon acceptance. 5. All fees are subject to HST (13% Harmonized Sales Tax). 6. Should an exhibitor not be accepted

i) cheque (if applicable) would be voided and returned. ii) $50 deposit (if applicable) would be refunded within 14 days

EXHIBITION SPACE: 1. Exhibition space includes the rented square footage, furniture (if applicable) as indicated below: a. 10x10 Booth: include one 8’ table and two chairs. Additional tables/chairs may be brought or rented. Additional racks, shelving ect are permitted provided all display

materials are in your rented allotted space. The floor space is approximately 10’ wide by 10’ deep, includes 8’ rear drape, and 3’ side partitions. b. 10x5 Booth: include one 8’ table and two chairs. Additional tables/chairs may be brought or rented. Additional racks, shelving ect are permitted provided all display

materials are in your rented allotted space. The floor space is approximately 10’ wide by 5’ deep, includes 8’ rear drape, and 3’ side partitions. c. 6’ Table Space: include one 6’ table and one chairs. Table Spaces are table top displays ONLY. Due to limited space floor space, racks are not permitted. (there are no

drape or partitions for this size of space). 2. Exhibitors may only use the allotted rented space. Encroaching on neighbouring spaces or common areas (isles) is strictly prohibited. 3. All tables must be covered (table skirt or table cloth) that reaches the floor to hide any storage or boxes. Table skirts may be purchased, or applicants may provide their

own table coverings. 4. Exhibitors must maintain a clean area and are responsible to place garbage, bags and boxes in garbage receptacles provided. 5. Subletting or renting a portion of the exhibition space without written permission is strictly prohibited. 6. Your exhibition space must look profession, NO handwritten signs, we will ask you to remove all handwritten signs. Chalkboard Signs are permitted. 7. Exhibitor is strictly prohibited to apply or attach pins, tape, tac, glue or other adhesives to building columns, floors, walls or other components not belonging to the

Exhibitor. The exhibitor will be liable for any costs incurred due to non-compliance. SET-UP & DISMANTEL OF EXIBITION SPACE: 1. Exhibition space must be fully set-up and occupied prior to the commencement of the show hours 2. Show Hours are posted online and in the exhibitor manual 3. Set-up options are/will be posted online and in the exhibitor manual (also communicated by email). Exact times will be communicated with the exhibitor prior to the show. 4. Exhibitors may begin to dismantle their booth following the conclusion of the show. No space may be dismantled in part or whole prior to the conclusion of the show. 5. Exhibitors that dismantle of their booth or leave prior to the conclusion of the show will NOT be invited to future events. 6. Exhibitors are required to listen and obey instructions by Show Management, Security, Parking Control and/or Venue staff. CANCELLATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS: 1. An exhibitor may cancel their application no later than application deadlines (as noted above) (if a cheque was provided the cheque will be voided and returned). After application deadlines (as noted above), upon acceptance of application the exhibitor fee and deposits are non-refundable. 2. Should an exhibitor cancel after application deadlines (as noted above) or fail to attend on event day, Show Management reserves the right to

i. Retain all payments (upon acceptance of application the exhibitor fee is non-refundable) and/or ii. Re-rent the exhibition space.

CANCELLATION OR CURTAILMENT OF THE SHOW: 3. In the event the facility in which the Show is to be held is destroyed or becomes unavailable for occupancy, or if for any reason the Show Management is unable to permit the Exhibitor to occupy the facility or the Rental Space, or if the Show is cancelled or curtailed, for any reason beyond the control of the Show Management, Craftadian/Made by Hand will not be responsible for any loss of business or loss of profits.
