Join Lori and husband, Glen for a trip of a lifetime. Visit the Amish and learn of their lifestyle in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. Enjoy the hearty made from scratch, traditional Amish cuisine and see the excellent examples of craftsmanship and quality from quilts to clocks. From there we will take in the succulent scents of chocolate in the town of Hershey and experience the German Heritage of the early Pennsylvania Dutch at the Landis Valley Museum. We will be immersed into the history of the American Civil war in Gettysburg and our tour culminates in the historical richness found within one square mile in Philadelphia’s Historic district.

Through the years, quilts have become documents of history. Thrifty, self-sufficient women who helped homestead the land stitched quilts one patch at a time leaving their heritage from generation to generation.

Recently quilters have developed techniques, tools and quick and simple patterns to enable us to get a quilt done, still a labour of love, for each of our loved ones. Whether you have made one for each one already or not … it is time to create an heirloom!

Here is your opportunity to create this sampler quilt in attainable sections. The quilt is scrappy but utilizes fat quarters and fat eighths for the blocks. Each month on the second Saturday, themed collections of fat quarters or fat eighths, as needed, will be released for sale. Use these collections or use up your stash or combine both and create your heritage quilt.

This quilt is a collection of 59-6” blocks and will run for 15 months. The first month consists of 3 blocks and months 2-15 have 4 per month.

Registration fee of $25 includes your patterns for the entire quilt and will be available each month for 15 months. Finished quilt 59¾X 79½.

Begins February 13 or start to fit your schedule after that!
