Lord, I Need You

Verse 1

Lord, I come I confess, bowing here I find my rest, and without You I fall apart.

You're the one that guides my heart.

Chorus 1

Lord, I need You, Oh, I need You. Ev'ry hour I need You.

My one defense my righteousness, Oh God, how I need You

Verse 2

Where sin runs deep your grace is more. Where grace is found is where You are,

and where You are, Lord, I am free. Holiness is Christ in me.

Where You are, Lord, I am free. Holiness is Christ in me.

Bridge

So teach my song to rise to You When temptation comes my way.

And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You, Jesus. You're my hope and stay,

And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You, Jesus You're my hope and stay.

Chorus 2

Lord, I need You, Oh, I need You. Ev'ry hour I need You.

My one defense my righteousness, Oh God, how I need You.

My one defense my righteousness, Oh God, how I need You.

I Will Go

Verse 1

Standing in the place where doubt and faith collide,

Staring in the face of fear that has to die

When You call my name there's only one reply,

No I won't wait, I'll give You my whole life

Chorus

I will go where You send me; To the ends of the earth.

Just say the word and I'll go. I will go where You lead me.

I'll follow Your heart, Wherever You are, I'll go

Verse 2

I've packed my bags and now I'm heading out.

No I won't look back until the lost are found,

'Cause I've been losing sleep over the least of these, and I'll find Your riches

among poverty

Bridge

In Your name the blind will see, The lame will walk the bound are free.

In Your name the darkness hides The mountains move the dead will rise.

In Your name in Your name

Songs for Sunday, August 23

The Apostles’ Creed, Traditional Version

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from then he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen

Come, Christians, Join to Sing

Verse 1 Come, Christians, join to sing:

Alleluia! Amen! Loud praise to Christ our King:

Alleluia! Amen! Let all, with heart and voice,

Before his throne rejoice; Praise is his gracious choice.

Alleluia! Amen!

Verse 2 Come, lift your hearts on high:

Alleluia! Amen! Let praises fill the sky:

Alleluia! Amen! He is our guide and friend;

To us he’ll condescend; His love shall never end:

Alleluia! Amen!

Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee

Verse 1

Joyful, Joyful, we adore thee,

God of glory, Lord of love;

Hearts unfold like flowers before thee,

Opening to the sun above.

Melt the cloud of sin and sadness;

drive the dark of doubt away.

Giver of immortal gladness,

fill us with the light of day!

Verse 3

Thou art giving and forgiving,

Ever blessing, ever blest,

Well-spring of the joy of living,

Ocean depth of happy rest!

Thou our Father, Christ our brother,

All who live in love are thine;

Teach us how to love each other,

lift us to the joy divine.

Verse 4

Mortals, join the mighty chorus which the morning stars began;

Love divine is reigning o’re us,

Binding all within its span.

Ever singing, march we onward,

Victors in the midst of strife;

Joyful music lead us sunward,

in the triumph song of life.

A Prayer submitted by Dave Spaulding:

Heavenly father,

I am your humble servant, I come before you today in need of hope.

There are times when I fell helpless. There are times when I feel weak.

I pray for hope. I need hope for a better future. I need hope for a better life. I need hope for love and kindness.

Some say that the sky is at it’s darkest just before the light. I pray that this is true, for all seems dark.

I need your light, Lord, in every way. I pray to be filled with your light from head to toe. To bask in your glory.

To know that all is right in the world, as you have planned, and as you want it to be.

Help me to walk in your light, and live my life in faith and glory.

In your name, I pray. Amen.
