his tenure at Indiana State University,John Wooden worked on his famous“Pyramid of Success.” He put suc-cess, according to his definition, atthe apex.
“The first two blocks of thepyramid are the two corner-stones because to be strong,you have to have a strongfoundation,” said Wooden.“The cornerstones ofsuccess to me, in any-thing, are hard workand enjoy whatyou’re doing. So,one cornerstone isindustriousnessand the other isenthusiasm.
“Success is peace of mind whichis a direct result of self-satisfac-
tion in knowing you did yourbest to become
the best that youare capable of
becoming.”
