89/31 #142 Gilbert Skelly…he was a local character at Carcross. He was French Canadian/part Indian. Skelly always said that he was part Hindu, and was born in India. He was definitely insane most of the time, and used to haunt our place. Many stories are told of Skelly...he claimed second sight, and warned the B.Y.N. of a boat that was sunk in 5 Fingers...He had been all over the Yukon...never did any work and knew all the past history of everyone in the Yukon...particularly if it was shady.
