Religious Education - Office Hours September 2017 – June 2018
Monday – Closed Tuesday – 9:30 a.m. – 12 noon Wednesday 2:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Thursday 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Friday 9:30 a.m. - 12 noon
“We Live for the Lord We die for the Lord We are the Lord’s”
The Mass reminds us of God’s love, mercy, forgiveness, peace and salvation He gives us and we see and hear it in Jesus, our Savior. Forgiveness must be a part of our daily lives. We need to make time to re-read today’s Scripture Readings; to spend some time in meditation and prayer on them with the intent to be truly united with Jesus, our model for salvation.
Family/Children’s Mass – Sunday, October 1, 9:30 a.m.
Volunteer Catechist Aides (grades 8 and above) who are practicing Catholics and attend Mass at least weekly and on holy days are needed. Please contact the Religious Education Department (ext. 123), leave your name, phone number and a good time to return your call. Do you have a Catechism at home? Every home should have a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church so parents and children can talk about the faith from a reliable source. Saint John Paul II told us back in October 1995 while visiting St. Patrick’s Cathedral “There are two immediate things Catholic families can do to strengthen home life. The first; pray (the Rosary). The second is to use the Catechism of the Catholic Church to learn about the faith and to answer questions that come up, especially the moral questions which confront everyone daily.

PLAN AHEAD FOR OCTOBER 1ST
Try to schedule yourself for two (2) Parish events next Sunday, October 1st. First, after the 9:30am Family Mass is our first Pancake Breakfast for the year. Bring your appetite to Church. Donation is $ 6.00 adults, $4.00 children under 12, and $20.00 per family. Second, after the 11:30am Mass we have our Annual Life Chain. People at that Mass will be asked to form a procession to the edge of Bradhurst Ave where we witness to our belief in the sacredness and protection of all life by forming a “life chain” carrying signs about our belief for 45 minutes. If you do not attend the 11:30am Mass simply come and join us at Bradhurst at 12:30pm. If you have more time, a Rosary will be prayed after the life chain at the outdoor statue of Mary, Queen of Knock.
CHOIR RECRUITMENT ADULT AND YOUTH CHOIRS
The Adult and Youth Choirs are currently seeking new members. There are no auditions necessary, only a love of music and the ability to hold a simple melody! If you would like to join, you can contact the Music Director, Alexis Gray, at [email protected] or partake in a rehearsal on Tuesday evening. We look forward to meeting you!
Address . . . one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart.” “He who sings prays twice” (CCC).
It's a call for new lectors. Reader/Lectors are needed for the 9:30am and 11:30am Masses. Training will be provided. Please contact Patricia Barresi at [email protected]"
