Chapter 1

System Requirements



System Requirements

• Operating System: Windows or Linux

• Free system memory: 512MB

• Free disk space: 500MB

• Note: This is only good for the purpose of learning

• Note: Strictly NOT for production

Chapter 2

Installation



Installation

• Installation wizard and bundle can be downloaded from www.joget.org/download

• On Windows

– Download “v4 Enterprise Edition – Setup Wizard for Windows” and follow on-screen instructions.

• On Linux

– Download “v4 Enterprise Edition – Bundle for Linux” and follow the instructions on http://dev.joget.org/community/display/KBv4/Installation+on+Linux

Java Runtime Environment

• JRE 5 and above (JRE 7 is the most recommended) is needed to run Workflow Designer



Installation – Windows Bundle

• On Windows

– Joget with Tomcat and MySQL server bundled.• Tomcat runs at port 8080 by default.

• MySQL runs at port 3307 with default credential.

• On Linux

– Joget with Tomcat• Tomcat runs at port 8080 by default.

On Windows - Starting and Stopping Joget Workflow

• To Start:Start > Programs > Joget Workflow > Start Joget ServerLeave the Tomcat console window open. Closing the console window will terminate Tomcat (and Joget Server).

• To Stop:Start > Programs > Joget Workflow > Stop Joget Server

On certain systems, you will need to manually close the Tomcat console window after stopping the Joget Server.



On Linux - Starting and Stopping JogetWorkflow

• To Start:

– Start the Database server used to host database used by Joget.

– Start Tomcat server accordingly.

• To Stop:

– Likewise, in reverse order, stop the Tomcat server, then the database server.



Interacting with Joget Workflow

• Administration and user interaction with Joget Workflow is done through the Workflow Management Console(WMC).

• The WMC can be accessed only after the Joget Workflow server has been started.

• Use the shortcut in the Programs group, or go to address:http://localhost:8080/jw

– Username: admin

– Password: admin



Introducing the Admin Bar

• Conveniently placed on the right of the page all the time for easy access to all administrative features.



and the Web Console

• The web console (first developed on Joget v3) is an alternative ways of accessing what the Admin Bar can access. They are both interchangeable.

• From the list of sample apps pre-installed in your Joget, try out one of the apps as an end user.– HR Expenses Claim App

• Submit as Cat

• Approve as Clark

• Verify as Admin

• Study the App design– Process design

– Form design

– Datalist design

– Userview design

Joget App Generator



Joget App Generator

• Quick and convenient way of creating a new Joget App based on ready/existing template.

• THINK! App Generator as the boilerplate for your App design.



Let’s try it out!

• Create a new App

– Name it as Express Leave App

• Create a new Form

– Name it as Application Form. (id: applicationForm, table: ex_leave_applications)

• On top right of the Form Builder

– Click on Generate App

– Check all

– Generate



Try out the Joget Experience (again) on this newly created App
