We are looking for permanent Business Services Assistants (Schedulers) to join Derbyshire’s Homecare Scheduling Service.
Derbyshire’s Homecare Service provides care and support to Residents of Derbyshire in their own homes. The Service is currently going through a big change which will involve providing primarily short term packages of care, in order to enable us to support timely discharge from hospital, avoid hospital admission and enable people to retain and regain their independence.
The Homecare Scheduling Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the Homecare Service runs efficiently and responds quickly to provide care and support in the community from 7am to 10pm, 365 days per year on a rotational basis. This post will involve planning workloads for care workers (community) staff, liaising with residents and Domiciliary Service Organisers and care workers and will include weekend and bank holiday working.
We are looking for committed and flexible people for this team which is based in Chesterfield. The successful candidates will require appropriate information & technology (IT) skills, which includes using a variety of IT systems (full training is provided for our scheduling system). Communication skills, ability to work to deadlines and an understanding of confidentiality are also essential to this post.
The team works on a two-shift system on a rotational basis covering from 7.00 a.m. to 10 pm, 356 days per year, so evening, bank holiday and weekend working is required. Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.

An opportunity has arisen to apply for the position of Enablement Worker within the Mental Health Enablement service. The applicant will need to be a motivated, enthusiastic individual with the ability to provide a wide range of practical, social and general support services for individuals experiencing difficulties in managing their day to day
lives. The successful applicant will typically work alone and will provide support to clients on a 1:1 basis in the community in line with the agreed Personal Service Plan.
The post is based in Chesterfield and covers the North East Derbyshire area. You will therefore be expected to travel throughout a large geographical area, and on occasion to other locations within Derbyshire.

The service predominately works with working age adults with a mental health need on a short-term basis to support them through periods of difficulty, to promote independence, connect people with their communities and to support discharge from hospital. The team of Enablement workers also provide some long-term packages of support.
The service provides time limited support, highly focused on maximizing independence to reduce ongoing care and support needs. We aim to support clients to become more resilient in managing their mental health issues and reduce risk by enabling them to gain skills and build confidence in a way that empowers them to exercise maximum choice and control.
Inspiring confidence and motivation is a key factor, alongside regular goal setting to achieve daily living tasks such as self-care, money management, addressing hoarding issues, accessing public transport, referring to outreach services such as welfare rights, adult learning, housing etc, and assisting people to build social networks to promote a sense of well-being and belonging.
Responsibilities include:
Acting in accordance with DCC policies and procedures, including that of safeguarding, confidentiality and Health & Safety.
Lone working in the community with clients, following the risk assessments in place. Planning own work schedule with support from the Senior Enablement Worker. Completing all training requirements and ongoing development. Using electronic systems to record all work accurately and factually in line with the requirement of the DCC
monitoring and evaluation process. Liaise with colleagues, contribute to team meetings/reviews, and maintain good working relationships with
Adult Care Social Work Teams, Community Mental Health Teams, the Recovery and Peer Support Service and other agencies as appropriate.

We are seeking to recruit a full-time permanent Community Care Worker to join the Integrated Hospital Discharge Team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the archaeologically rich County of Derbyshire. We are looking to recruit a Development Control archaeologist to work with the Derbyshire County Council’s Archaeologist to provide advice to the nine district planning authorities.
Based within the Conservation, Heritage and Design Service at the County Council, the successful candidate will work closely with our other heritage professionals, ecologists and the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site Coordination Team. The role is to identify, record and protect Derbyshire´s historic environment through the development control process.
The successful candidate will advise local Planning Officers on the impacts of development proposals on the County’s archaeological resource and using relevant planning guidance seek to manage this impact. This will also involve working with Archaeological Consultants and Contractors, Developers and their agents.
About the role
This is a half-time role which will largely be focused on providing archaeological advice to planners, developers and landowners, but will also involve contributing to the Derbyshire Historic Environment Record and promoting the service through public outreach.
About you
Applicants should have a degree in archaeology, experience in archaeological fieldwork, development control archaeology and identification of threats to the archaeological resource. Knowledge of/experience with Historic Environment Records and GIS is also desirable, as is a level of membership of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists.
